While the Bucs injury report is still rather long, there was much more good news on Thursday’s report. Two defensive players that did not participate at all in Wednesday’s practice were back to being limited today. Additionally, two players that were limited on Wednesday are now back in full capacity.

Wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. is suffering from an ankle injury but was not limited at practice today. With Jalen McMillan being on injured reserve, not having Godwin would be stretching the depth of the Bucs wide receiver room. Luckily, it looks like he is progressing towards the possibility of playing in Week 4.

Outside linebacker Yaya Diaby was also back at practice today under limited circumstances. This is a step in the right direction for Diaby, who didn’t participate at all on Wednesday. Rueben Bain Jr. is looking like he will most likely not play in the Bucs game against the Green Bay Packers, so Diaby being healthy would be incredibly favorable for the defense. Defensive lineman Rakeem Nuñez-Roches was also back to practicing in a limited capacity today.

Another exciting piece of the defense looks to be making a comeback as well. Linebacker Josiah Trotter is now fully participating at practice again. The rookie got off to a red-hot start getting a sack and pick-six in his first game but was then injured during Week 2’s game, leading him to sit out for Week 3. Having Trotter back in action would be extremely helpful for Tampa Bay.

Cornerback Benjamin Morrison, who practiced in full on Wednesday, was limited at Thursday’s practice. Morrison is dealing with a quad injury. He has a history of soft tissue injuries that he dealt with his rookie year,  which ultimately limited him to ten games. Hopefully this isn’t a serious cause for concern, but it’s definitely something to keep an eye on.

With one day of practice remaining before the Bucs take on Green Bay, Friday should solidify many of the unanswered questions about these injuries. One thing is certain, Tampa Bay needs all hands on deck to avoid a 0-4 start.
