  1. Winston has to play better. OL has to play better. And RB’s and WR’s need to play better. The Bucs need to find a way to win Thursday night because next month starts the gauntlet that is the Bucs schedule this season.

  2. Looking around the league and you see how important it is to keep adding to the trenches every off season. I hope Licht is paying attention.

Just look at the difference there is by having Suh and Vea on the team compared to years before where McDonald was the only true stand out playing the run and pass. Need more trench players on OL and DL along with pass rushers if the Bucs are to aspire for more.

  3. If Devin White can out duel Luke Kueckly and Jameis Winston is 1 turnover or less, than I think the Bucs can win on Thursday.

  4. Watched Saints v. Texans last night – wow, great football week 1 for both of those teams. Huge contrast to what we saw Sunday.

  5. The wheels are about to completely come off. Look at the quarterbacks drafted with and since Winston. He looks like the worst of them all right now. Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson, Mahommes, Darnold, on and on, 5th year and its embarrassing. He looked like he did his 1st game against the Titans 4 years ago. We are going to get destroyed Thursday. Don’t be surprised if we lose 56-10 or 59-14 something like that.

    • Josh Rosen, Mitchell Trubiski,+/- Marcus Mariotta, Paxton Lynch, Deshone Kizer, Josh Allen being the other side of the coin. Always a crap shoot in the draft. Remember #1 Jamarcus Russell, #2 Ryan Leaf.
It’s just the The Bucs have NEVER hit on a good quarterback in the draft. I guess we can give Winston the balance of the year to prove us wrong.

  6. Should not judge Winston until he has an Oline that is better than a turnstile for defenses. Historically Tampa has had weak Olines. Hard to be a good quarterback when you are always running for your life, or chucking and ducking. Invest in the Oline and doesn’t matter who you have as a quarteback.

  7. Doesn’t matter if the line is no good. Can’t pay him mega millions after this unless he does well this year. So far the answer is no we have cut him loose at the end of the season unless there is a drastic turnaround

    • Who do you replace him with? Griffin has no experience and Gabbert well that would be giving up on season. A rookie next year means nothing because the oline is terrible. Paying him mega bucks? Look even the most mediocre quarterbacks are getting mega millions, and the athletes in every pro sport are over paid in my opinion.

  8. you have to draft a new quarterback next year with a 1st round pick. unfortunately that’s the system we’re in. if he melts down the rest of the year, you have no choice. I hate to see it happen because I like him and I had high hopes but there little time left and Sunday was a bad sign.

    • You don’t need to have a 1st round pick for a quarterback. You need a line that can protect the QB, and if you don’t have that have a scheme that roles the QB out to give him a second or 2 to see the field.

  9. Most NFL teams are moving away from drafting a QB in the first and are going to drafting QB’s in the 2nd and 3rd round of the draft while building up the trenches on both sides of the ball.

But the key to drafting a QB in the 2nd and 3rd round of the draft is that the QB has to have a quick release. A quick release is now mandatory with how the NFL game has evolved.

  11. I think to keep Winston as your QB is best option for remainder of season. So what if he is not a “Franchise QB” if he has a bad season then resign him for a discount then what you would have paid if he had a great season. Look in the draft for a future QB that can sit and listen to the QB whisperer for a season while keeping Winston the starter and building a line thru free agency and the draft. That way regardless the Bucs are moving in the right direction. Remember, you can’t score touchdowns if your receivers have teflon hands.
