When Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston was drafted by the Buccaneers in 2015, he talked about wanting to give back and work with young people. A lot of athletes give lip service to these types of things, and while many debate Winston’s progression on the football field, not many can argue about his work off of it.
This offseason saw Winston even more engaging with his Dream Forever Foundation, locally, and and also back in his home state of Alabama. Recently Winston spent an entire week working with young people in Alabama, from taking kids shopping at Dick’s Sporting Goods, to a visit to a Bessemer, Ala. library and a $5,000 donation to football camps. Then Winston wrapped up the week by loading up two vans in Bessemer and taking a trip to Etowah County to Keenum Lakes and Hunting Lodge for a memorable fishing trip and return to nature.
