It is NFL Draft season and the mock drafts from the NFL experts and pundits are being published nearly every day and making their picks for the Bucs. Bucs’ First Round Pick: Clemson DE Clelin Ferrell
“The Bucs need a pass rusher opposite Jason Pierre-Paul.” – Charley Casserly

Bucs’ First Round Pick: LSU MLB Devin White
“Let’s kick off the Bruce Arians-Todd Bowles era by upgrading the Buccaneers defense before McCoy and David are too old to rock ‘n’ roll. Devin White is the player the Bucs hoped Kwon Alexander (a free agent) would become after his promising rookie season: a big-hitting blitzer with range and thump to take pressure off David. But Alexander has dealt with injuries, and his development stagnated. And White is an all-around better athlete.
Vita Vea, last year’s first-round pick, came on strong late in the season, so McCoy now has some help on the interior line as well. Before you know it, folks will start talking about the Buccaneers defense again. In a good way.” – Mike Tanier

Bucs’ First Round Pick (via Denver): Clemson DE Clelin Ferrell
“Ferrell was one of the stars of the best defensive line in college football, and he finished his junior season with 11.5 sacks and 20 tackles for loss. There may be questions about his flexibility compared to the other first-round pass rushers but there’s no denying his Clemson production. In fact, on first downs during the 2018 season, Ferrell ranked among the top-10 players in the country in sacks (5), hurries (12), hits (10), knockdowns (5) and pressures (17).” – Ryan Wilson

Bucs’ First Round Pick: Alabama OT Jonah Williams
“Even if Tampa Bay issues the franchise tag to left tackle Donovan Smith, Jameis Winston likely needs enhanced protection in order to thrive in Bruce Arians’ downfield passing attack. Williams is perhaps the most polished pass protector in his class and would invigorate a dormant run game with his ability to consistently overpower defenders at the second level.” – Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz

Bucs’ First Round Pick: LSU MLB Devin White“Gerald McCoy will be back with the Buccaneers, lessening the need to find a defensive tackle in the first round. That could open the Buccaneers to taking unquestionably the best linebacker in the draft this year. White could be in play even if standout linebacker Kwon Alexander is re-signed. The Buccaneers will use more 3-4 looks under Todd Bowles, and they will need a dependable tackling linebacker with range.” – Dan Kadar
