The news that Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston will face a three-game suspension to start the season has been met with a number of emotions from fans of the team. From anger directed at the NFL, to anger directed at Winston, and everything in between, the facts have been slow to be revealed.

Late Friday afternoon a new report was published that doesn’t bode well for Winston’s case for innocence.

In a story from ESPN’s Paula Lavigne, the mysterious third passenger in the Uber ride where Winston has been accused of groping in 2016 was named. Former Vanderbilt football player Brandon Banks has been identified as a passenger along with Winston and Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby. And Banks, through his attorney, has disputed Darby’s recollection of the night by stating while he was a passenger for part of the night, Winston was alone with the Uber driver at some point during the night.

Darby has maintained that all three were passengers were the car during the ride, and he and Winston shared the backseat, with at the time, the unidentified third passenger in the front.

And in a twist that also doesn’t do anything for Winston’s perception, Banks is serving a 15-year prison sentence for rape, a charge that occurred when Banks was a player for the Commodores in June of 2013. Banks was not convicted until 2017 a year after the Uber incident happened.

While it was originally reported that Winston would receive a three-game suspension, NFL.com reported on Friday that the three games isn’t set in stone meaning it could end up being more.
