It was White’s first career Defensive Player of the Week award, on the heels of an 11-tackle, 3-sack performance that also including the bone-jarring hit above to stop Derek Carr on 4th-and-1. White also registered two tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble.
This is White’s first Defensive Player of the Week nod, after winning Defensive Rookie of the Month awards last year in November and in December. White currently leads the Bucs in tackles (61) and tackles-for-loss (8.5), and is second on the team with four sacks.
The Bucs travel to face the New York Giants on Monday Night Football in Week 8.
