The Bucs got a big win in Week 12, rallying from 10 down to beat the Colts, 38-31. But they lost more players in the process, as cornerback Jamel Dean went down in the first quarter with a shoulder injury. Dean was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game. After the win, Bucs head coach Bruce Arians spoke about the third-year defender.

“I have no idea,” Arians said when asked about the severity of Dean’s injury. “It’s not very good.”

The Bucs are already playing without top cornerback Carlton Davis, who has been out since Week 4 with a quad injury. Sean Murphy-Bunting just returned to the lineup, but was shredded by the Colts in his second game back. Dean has been the Bucs best cornerback this season with Davis out, so his loss is a huge one. However, Davis began practicing this week and could return to the lineup against the Falcons or Bills, the Bucs’ next two opponents.

Dean was injured making a tackle in the first quarter. The Bucs also lost linebacker Devin White, guard Aaron Stinnie and return man Jaelon Darden on Sunday. White returned to the game in the second half despite a hip injury. The third-year linebacker entered the game with a quad injury.

Tampa Bay was already without guard Ali Marpet, wide receiver Antonio Brown and Davis on Sunday. All three could play next week against Atlanta, which would give the team critical reinforcements. If Dean and Davis can’t go, Pierre Desir will likely start across from Murphy-Bunting in Week 13.
