Adam Slivon offers his Top 10 Takeaways after the Bucs were upset by the Browns 23-19 in Week 2. No one expected Tampa Bay to really lose this one. Cleveland was supposed to be a layup, but they stayed competitive and made a key stop to win after an over two-hour rain delay at Raymond James Stadium.

Slivon details Baker Mayfield’s struggles, recognizing the changing perception around the $165 million man. Until Mayfield proves otherwise, paying him before the season seems like a mistake. Zac Robinson’s offense has its faults, as the scheme has failed to consistently put players in position to make plays. Bucky Irving was one of the only offensive players who provided a spark, while Kenny Gainwell has been disappointing. Slivon reacts to Gainwell’s minimal impact, while also detailing why Alex Anzalone’s name has been brought up for all the wrong reasons two games into the season.

Neither offseason addition has produced, and Tampa Bay’s defense unraveled in the second half as Deshaun Watson got into a rhythm. The positives were few and far between for a team that played down to its competition, but does that expression even hold anymore for a Bucs team that is 2-9 over its last 11 games? At least Chase McLaughlin is an elite kicker. That is one of the only silver linings here. The decision not to make Liam Coen head coach is increasingly becoming a sad alternate reality to ponder, as the Todd Bowles Show has declining ratings and has a tough few episodes coming soon with a 2-0 Vikings squad on the schedule next in Week 3.
