The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced on Friday that the team has signed free agent center Josh LeRibeus.

LeRibeus attended Southern Methodist University and was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the third round (71st overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft.  He was with the Redskins from 2012-2015 and with the New Orleans Saints from 2017-18, playing in 50 career games with 15 starts.

The Buccaneers roster now stands at 90 players.

  1. I thought the Bucs liked center Ryan Jensen. Is this for the backup slot or are they wanting to try someone else out for competitive purposes? Just wondering, thanks.

  2. Ryan Jensen is making a fully guaranteed $10M this year. He isn’t going anywhere in 2019.

  3. I imagine LeRibeus is versatile and can also play Guard (hopefully RG), if not he will be a valuable backup for a (still) rather thin OL

  4. I agree with Brandonges. Jensen will be here in 2019. Who knows what’s in the mind of BA, but I’m going to guess that this is a depth signing that may provide competition for back-up Center with Evan Smith more so than Jensen. Training camp will decide if the Bucs retain the services of Smith now 33 and counts 2mil against the cap. I wouldn’t count Smith out because he can also play guard.

LeRibeus entered the league as a Washington third-round pick in 2012 and spent four years with the team. He re-signed in 2016, but was cut in September and didn’t play any regular season games that year. LeRibeus appeared in 22 games for the Saints the last two years and made three starts in 2018 (from PFT).

  7. There’s going to be a lot of these random moves…there’s as good a chance this guy is gone in 2 weeks as there is that he makes the 53…no need to report on everyone of these PR.

  8. Been watching the SEC network this week, replaying a lot of last years games. I’ve been taping the LSU games that are on watching our first round pick White. Watched S. Carolina, verse Vandy yesterday, and saw a LG named Bailey playing pretty darn well. I think we signed him as an UDFA. S.C. was behind so they threw the ball a bunch, and this kid let no one get by him that I saw. His two hand punch to the chest of DT’s stopped them cold. I’m not sure if this is the same kid we signed, but I sure hope so. I’ll tell you right now, he’s better then Cappa, or Benenoch. He’s a player to keep an eye on when the pads come on.

    • Yes Surfer, that would be OG Zach Bailey 6-5, 300 out of South Carolina. Did not get drafted due to concern about ACL. Has since fully recovered. He was signed as a priority (highly sought after) UDFA. The Bucs gave Bailey a $22,000 signing bonus plus a $22,000 salary. Hope he pans out. Go Bucs!

  9. Bucs are just attempting to CYA for next year (not this one) You gotta be outta your mind to think…This cheap franchise is gonna pay Jensen another 10 mil the following year. He’s not even as good as GMC was.

  12. They didn’t make Jensen highest paid center to can him. Lol. He played decent except for the penalties. This is depth move and they probably aren’t in love with Smith. Assume this guy has played other positions besides center.

  13. Hey Surferdudes. We did sign him. It’s Zack Bailey, 6’5″ 307 lbs., Second team All-SEC, named to 2018 East- West Shrine Game and invited to the Combine. He should have been drafted, but broke his fibula in a meaningless game with Akron. Got cleared for the Combine, put up good numbers, but didn’t run the 40. The injury dropped him to us. I think you are right about him. We may have got a good one for cheap.

  14. Before you open mouth and rebuttal, all of you thinking Devin White was good choice for 5th pick in draft watch the Devin White (LSU LB #40) Vs. Auburn 2018 every play of Devin White.
Auburn shut him down whole game, he missed a lot of important tackles. was blocked right out of plays

  18. Devin white is going to take two years to develop into a good player he’s got the speed and strength but it does not have technique
Once he gets Technic he’ll be good in the pros but it’s going to take a couple of years. I seriously don’t think Bucs Scouts watch film. It’s like they use ESPN hype for their decisions.

  20. I did watch that game Ass. He had two stops in the backfield, plus drew two holding penalties on blitz’s. The commentators raved about him all game. He never came off the field, and directed the defense all game. If you’re going to talk out your buc ass, at least know what you’re talking about.

  21. Yes fredster I remember last year how stupid you said I was when I did not like Veta game in fiesta bowl.
Fredster said he was a monster and would dominate, vita Vea 29 tackles 3 sacks all of 2018.
Cory Littleton and Kyle Van Noy had more tackles and sacks in the postseason alone 2018.
Devin like Vita will take 2 -3 years to develop.
Both used athleticism to dominate week teams and had problems when against good teams.
    Do to tech issues.
Cale Garrett had most tackles in SEC get your facts right Devin White was third

  22. Ass, it’s finny how much time and effort you put into trying to prove the Bucs and Bucs players as being so bad. Why are you even on this site? You are a sickeningly negative sad person. You jump on articles and post garbage skewed stats or game info to try to prove some unrelated point for what purpose? To prove you are right that the Bucs aren’t any good? You understand that nobody actually cares what you think right? You are not a Bucs Fan, that is the only thing all of us are certain of. True Fans may not drink the coolaid but they most certainly do not constantly bash the team and remember old arguments like a Disgruntled Wife to try and prove a meaningless argument. Here’s the thing, if the Bucs improve, everyone will be happy but you and if they don’t then you will be the only one that is happy and still no one will care about your comments. Just stop because I’m the end you are just talking to yourself and our responses are to your slanderous negativity about the team the rest of us actually like instead of you are your self aggrandize view of how correct of a Buc hating Troll you are.

Third thing is this isn’t about Devon white it’s about the offensive line and it’s not looking good for us and could ultimately be the last straw for Jason light since he did hardly anything to address it
