The list of assistant coaches under Bruce Arians grows larger as Rick Stroud reported that the Bucs have signed former Broncos offensive line coach Sean Kugler to their staff.

Kugler was the Broncos line coach for the 2018 season, in which they were Top 3 in the NFL with 4.9 rushing yards per attempt, and also averaged 119.2 yards per game.

He previously was the head coach for UTEP from 2013-17, and has been an offensive line coach for the Bills from 2008-2009, and Steelers from 2010-2012. Bruce Arians was Kugler’s offensive coordinator in Pittsburgh for the first two years of his time there.

It’s unclear as to exactly what role Kugler will have, with Harold Goodwin named as the Bucs offensive line coach and run game coordinator. Kugler did work with another offensive line coach, Chris Strausser, during his time in Denver last season. Kugler coached with the guards and centers while Strausser focused on the tackles.

  2. Hopefully he can hey full potential out of this line. Not sure if it’s bad coaches or just bad talent, because almost every offensive linemen under Warhop has regress or just plan suck, other than Marpet.

  3. Good. Let’s get 5 OL coaches in. Whatever it takes to shore up the line. Draft Jonah Williams and slide Donavan Smith to RT. Draft for RG or look to FA.

  5. I saw on Twitter that Kugler will be offensive line coach while Goodwin will be assistant head coach/run game coordinator. I’ll try and find the confirmation.

  7. Broncos have always had a pretty good offensive line for as long as I can remember. They have also always had real good chemistry and camaraderie on the unit.
    This is good news.

  9. I trust Bruce knows what he’s doing. I think our O line issues are both lack of talent and coaching has to be part of it too. Dotson May have reached the age now in 30’s where he’s goong downhill and Benenoch just didn’t look like a starter last year. Good news is that’s only two pieces and better coaching to turn it around imo. Go Bucs!

  10. Is the idea here that Arians is effectively also the Offensive Coordinator? I see there is a Run-Game Coordinator and a Pass-Game Coordinator but no Offensive Coordinator.
