PRetty decent chance both teams that passed us(Denver and the Jets) will take a QB so not the worst outcome. Worth it to end the season on that high note IMO.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Chubb is there at 7 actually. Here’s my pegs as of this moment.

CLE: QB
NYG: OL (probably the biggest chance here for Chubb.
IND: OL
CLE: Skill (I think Barkley)
DEN: QB
NYJ: QB
TB: Edge (likely Chubb)

If Chubb gets picked, there is still a good chance of CB Fitzpatrick from Alabama. I know defensive end is a huge need, but if we lose grimes, who the heck else do we have? I think free agency will be vital for getting this team over the hump. Hitting on the draft as well as we seemed to have this year doesn’t happen often. I’ll be interested in seeing what free agents are available this year. Either way I’m elated about the win for a time that most certainly needed the moral boost. They’ve been close so many times… Read more »

Never know we got OJ and no one would have predicted that last year.

My thoughts exactly. I groaned at first, but this was such a gutsy game, it gives me hope for next year.

Winning feels great! But, it does not feel great when I think about three interceptions, a few other bad decisions that could have/should have been turnovers, the return for a touchdown and the effect of the win on every round of the draft. Winston needs a “QB whisperer” who can teach him to internalize disciplined decision making without inhibiting his execution. You do not want to break his confidence like Josh Freeman. But, someone needs to find a positive way to convince him that throwaways are wins when no one is open. The intercepted third down throw from field goal… Read more »

Not sold on Chubb being available at 7. I wouldn’t hate OG Nelson.

If going OL, I’d rather go Mike McGlinchey. Need a tackle more, Donovan Smith should not be at LT. Move him to LG or RT if you take McGlinchey

Stupid win vs the Saints. We needed that 4th pick. Hopefully B Chubb is still available.

I don’t think you would say that if you were at the game surrounded by Saints fans who were clearing their throats readying themselves to chant that stupid “Who Dat?” cheer in our stadium. What’s the retort if we lost? “Oh yeah, we have a better Draft pick”. It was great to shove it up their collective asses.

Worth the win to go into the off season on a positive note. Go Bucs!

Remember back in 2006 when we won the last game and tied with Cleveland for opponent strength of schedule for trhe third overall pick We lost the coin flip. They got Joe Thomas and we got Gaines Adams (RIP). Hopefully, winning this game won’t come back and bite us in the ass. Let’s hope we get someone to fall to us like OJ did.

As per usual my math skills and comprehension of “Strength of schedule,” are extremely deficient, but how do we pick before the Bears if we beat them straight up??

Everybody at PR knows I’m all chubbed up for DE Bradley Chubb. And at my age that’s a rare moment. Lol. We are now picking 7th instead of 5. I make jest of the fact that because of our win today, he may be gone. I would rather us win any day over the NFC-South champions and start the new season off with the belief that if we play hard we can beat anybody. In reality, there is no guarantee that Chubb would even be there at 5. I’ve seen several mocks where he is chosen by the Colts before… Read more »

Mac, I don’t know how you get thumbs down votes for wanting your team to win. More important finishing season with a game winning drive by Jameis, then picking higher. Good come back victory.

Happy New Year Surfer. Don’t let the down votes bother you and don’t get enamored with the up votes either.

What a GREAT game! The Bucs fought hard all afternoon and despite three turnovers Jameis took the ball 95 yards with no timeouts and only 1:58 on the clock to win it! THAT is what franchise QB’s do. Best game of the year against a playoff team and something to build on. Very proud of the team and the fans who were there today. Some of the best damn fans in the NFL, no doubt about it.

Screw tanking for the draft. The Bucs played for themselves and their most loyal fans and I was glad to be there.

My sentiments exactly Garv. These people who think the goal entering the game is to improve the Draft position instead of winning need to sit in the stands surrounded by the opponent. Herman Edwards famous, “You play to win the game…..hello” quote applies regardless of any ulterior motives. Saints fans were in shock. As Dave Pear would say, “Whoda thunk it?”

First off it was great to get the Win yesterday. My season tickets are in the West Club and I was still surrounded by Saints fans and had to listen to that dumb a$$ “who dat” chant. Now to the draft, I pray Chubb is still available when we pick, but if not, there are 2 OL guys from Notre Dame that I wouldn’t mind getting. The Guard they have is said to be better than Zack Martin that came out a few years ago. I know we have to go heavy defense in this draft and I have always… Read more »

Two of my six seats are in the West Club, which is where I sat for this game. Of course a Saints fan right in front of me since so many “fans” are willing to sell their tickets to anyone including Charles Manson if he has the $. The number of Saints fans in the east lower bowl where I used to be before moving to the west side was absolutely ridiculous. Those seats are all held by supposed Bucs fans and local businesses.

At least the majority of the Saints fans probably don’t live here.

There is NO WAY we should come out of the first round without a DE.

rob roy

I do not see Bradley Chubb being there at seven either. The Colts or Cleveland will draft him ahead of the Bucs. The Bucs should still draft a DE in the first round (Arden Key or Harold Landrey) unless RB Saquon Barkley is still there. There are some very good CB’s to pick from for our second round pick. Target RB Nick Chubb in the third round. 1) RB Saquon Barkley (5-11 223) Penn State or DE Arden Key (6-6 231) LSU, DE Harold Landrey (6-3 250) Boston College or CB Denzel Ward (5-11 184) Ohio State 2) CB Tarvarus… Read more »
