Well it wasn’t Quenton Nelson, the Bucs feel like they got a potential starter on the offensive line, drafting Alex Cappa from Humboldt State.
The Buccaneers gave up a fourth and a sixth round pick to Minnesota to move up late in the third round.
Tampa Bay has had success drafting small school guards. Well, one success story anyway in Ali Marpet, who came from tiny Hobart in upstate New York. The Bucs hope to strike lightning twice in the small school guard department.
The 6-6, 305 guard has a nasty streak, and combined with new center Ryan Jensen should make the Bucs offensive line one of the toughest in the NFL.
More details and quotes from Cappa to come.
Better pick than MJ Stewart that’s for sure.
how do you know? MJ looks physcial and could slide into safety. I said the same thing about Beckwith so now i just dont doubt until its proven on the field
Thank you for making sense Rocky. Some just automatically are critical trying to make everyone think they are smarter than the rest of us.
Scubog, Obviously I hope I’m wrong, but I truly think that this pick will Haunt Licht.
Passing over Oliver (who got picked by the Falcons) who has great size, elite length, great tape, and 1st round talent, is a huge mistake akin to taking Charles Sims over Devonta Freeman.
None of us novices know anything for sure. I liked Freeman myself.
The specter that haunts Licht is named Aguayo. Every thing else is child’s play.
We all now know that Charles Sims over DeVonta Freeman was a “mistake”. Yet look back at the 2014 running backs and the Bucs mistake was less than the Rams, Titans, Giants or Steelers pick of a running back. Freeman was the guy who hit big. Nobody was saying that before the draft. In 2015 Arizona wanted to pick Ameer Abullah instead of David Johnson. But they lucked out when Detroit took Abdullah 2 picks before them in the 2nd round. They settled for David Johnson a round later. No one was rating Johnson higher. At least wait until the… Read more »
Love it! We’ve added maulers in the trenches!
Great pick!

X, I want to see playoffs first!
P.S. IMO (humble or not) your software sucks! It takes me 15 minutes to compose a “quick” email and it still comes out funky after I press Enter! This has been going on a while now!
When your contract runs out … Let me know and I just might be willing to come out of retirement and fix it for you so that it is truly “user-friendly”. I am sure you could afford me. Who knows I might even be cheaper than what you are paying now.
Only half serious/half venting!

Go Bucs!!!!!!!
You are SO RIGHT!
I couldn’t agree more. I had to download a new browser just to come on here. This site has issues. Hire xpfcWintergreen2 and get it fixed for the fans, please!
This dude looks filthy. I like everyone we have drafted. They all seem like a bunch of hardasses ready to fuck shit up.
Yeah, Baby! Or is it “Yeah, Baby, Yeah!”?
Walk softly and KICK ASS.

No, I am not “high” on any substance of any kind, legal or otherwise. I am just really psyched from following the complete draft as much as I could. As a result, I am a bit Insomniacal. (How is that for a word? It follows the rules of the Eglish language doesn’t it?)
Unlike, Scott, Mark and Trev I really am retired and I can stay up as long as I want to and I can sleep when I feel like it. 😁

Go Bucs!!!
Guess that blue pill helps.
Bucs showed a lot of patience in this draft. They added value at the right times and they moved up with discretion at the end. I cannot wait for Day 3
Shots fired! Licht is saying last years team was soft with these selections. Plus, fixing the trenches and the backend secondary was obviously a priority. Even the game breaker RoJo is hard runner with yards after contact when needed.
I hope Cappa is Marpet 2.0. I can also see him as a RT in the future. Great Draft so far.
I hope the Bucs can find a really good punt returner that can give the Offense good field pos. and maybe take some for a TD.
I think Licht is doing a very good job this year, moving back, getting his players and saving money while adding picks, very nice job. Only time will tell about how good the picks will be, but so far in theory it looks really good. I was questioning the Stewart pick, but after looking the kid up, he looks solid, and appears to play with some edge to him. I’m pumped about Cappa. a,k,a “The Bouncer” (I love it!), his tape is very impressive. If he’s another Marpet type of player, our line is going to be stout and a… Read more »
Great update, Scott. Love this draft. All these guys knock the snot out of people and love football. I watched Cappa at the senior bowl and was hoping we’d get him. If he’s got the skill I’d rather see him at left tackle and move doughboy Donnavan Smith over to the right side. For today I’d like to see us go DE, S and RB. Not necessarily that order, just best player available. Go Bucs!
This off-season is about as complete a makeover of a teams core personality as could possibly achieved….from soft to rugged on BOTH lines.
Go Licht/Koetter, definitely good hard tough nosed football player crop. Hope BUCS finish strong, my recommendation with mid 4th pic, go Antonio Callaway-Florida WR, maybe a steal of the draft if you can get/keep him on field? (see: positive THC combine urine test) That might be a problem, he couldn’t do it at UF. He would be a potential long term WR to replace D-Jax in few years, probably about the amount of time it will take for him to mature and get drug free? HUGE maybe. When plays, really is,” lights out”. Obviously money for rest of pics looks… Read more »
