While the debate amongst some fans is should Jameis Winston be inserted back as the team’s starter once his three-game suspension is up following next Monday night’s game against the Steelers, Bucs head coach told the media on Monday all he is worried about is Pittsburgh.

Ryan Fitzpatrick has been the talk of the NFL the last two games, after throwing for over 800 yards and accounting for nine touchdowns( eight passing, one rushing). Fans and media members alike wonder if and when Winston get’s his job back, especially if Fitzpatrick has another standout game on national television when they host the Steelers next Monday night.

The only thing he can say. QB controversies are great for media types, terrible for team chemistry.

The guys in the locker room will know who should play and the guys will have to figure that out between themselves and reconcile it when the time comes. And that time is certainly not now.

Right, Dman. And that Fitzpatrick press conference was good for team chemistry! Hahaha

What controversy?
What moron thinks that the quarterback who is playing better than every other quarterback in the league, should be or will be benched?

I mean really?

If Jameis were the one who put up the same unexpected gaudy statistics you’d still be seeking something negative to continue your anti-Winston narrative. We are all happy with the results of these past two games for which you, my friend, called me a “homer” for even thinking there was even the slightest chance for victory. Even you thought it was “unrealistic” to think Fitz would lead the team to victory. There is no doubt that Fitz, and the offense in general, is playing beyond expectations. For goodness sake he never played like this in any of his past 14… Read more »

You Winston fan boys just slay me with your invalid whataboutisms. There is zero comparability between Winston and Fitz. First of all, Winston and Winston alone is 100% responsible and liable for getting suspended from the team for three weeks, due to his sexual assaulf of a female Uber driver, and for being so stinking drunk that he cannot even remember what he did. Any idiot professional football player who does what Winston did is, and should be, in jeapardy of more than just sitting out three games, but must be at risk of losing his job in the NFL… Read more »

Cutting Winston would likely be one of the dumbest moves this franchise has made in the past 20 years, although I agree the team needs to ride Fitzpatrick’s hot hand until it’s no longer hot. When Fitzpatrick falters, and his history of the past 14 season shows it likely will at some point soon, Winston showed vast improvement running this offense during the preseason and training camp. He’ll do just fine and pick up right where Fitzpatrick dropped off. The success of the Bucs offense right now is as much about the O-Line improvement, the depth of talented receivers, game… Read more »

It’s pretty clear you have never been a Winston fan ever since the day he was drafted. It’s not a false “BS accusation”……….it’s a fact. Since Winston won’t be cut, as you demand, and will in all likelihood return as starter at some point, perhaps it’s so revolting to you that you become a Dolphins fan. Lot’s of them in SW Florida.

Is Fitz better than Winston? The answer is No and we all know it. In the giant sample size we have of Fitz is this sustainable? No. Even if they were even is Fitz the right move for next month, year or decade? No. So what are we doing here , Jameis is so much better than Fitz it’s not funny so because a guy who is known to be super streaky and has looked great in stretches before but always comes back down to what he really is we are considering getting rid of a franchise QB? Because make… Read more »

Today Fitz IS clearly a better quarterback than Winston. He is playing better today than every other quarterback in the league. Winston was never that good even on his best days.

And every player who is suspended by the league multiple games for bad behavior that is particularly disgusting, especially for such bad behavior that is a repeat performance, is by definition not a good player.

No – that title belongs to you and all the other self proclaimed Bucs fans who put a single player above the good of the entire team and fan base who do not share your love for Winston above all else .

You are a self-righteous BOOB! You have a lot of nerve. There are 15 other Teams that would gladly trade for or pick up off of waivers one Jameis Winston. I do not like the position he put the Team in any more than you but for you to go on like this about him is semi-creepy. You are riding this thing so deep now that you can’t get out of it. God forbid anyone look in to your likely checkered youth. Maybe your job and peers ought to know so that your future amployment and life can be judged.… Read more »

BucNnole, hey, what gives, have you forgotten about Buc-Ass-Bob.
I’m pretty sure I have disagreed with Naples opinion before, but for the biggest moron on the site I have to go with Buc-Ass-Bob hands down.
Remember the guy from Arizona who was always working out on Luke Stocker and said he couldn’t get a job anywhere else in the NFL except for Tampa Bay.
So when the Bucs did cut him, the Titans scooped him up immediately.
I love our armchair GMs. Always making trades, cutting and drafting players.

That was my friend jongruden to whom I refereed as “jonnyg”. He was actually a good Bucs fan who eventually changed to his new hometown Cardinals. His obsession with Luke Stocker was a bit over the top.

My vote goes to Naples for the gold star, with Buc Ass Bob and Sunshineben coming in for the silver and bronze.

You have officially joined the Morons Club by proclaiming you are a fan of the disgusting Winston over the welfare of the Bucs, and dissing anyone who does not share your infatuation with the serial sexual assaulter who has never lived up to his grossly overhyped reputation as a football player.

I’m a fan of the Bucs and whoever is on the roster. What sexual assault conviction are you citing? Oh, that would be, none.

Perhaps you can teach us all the secret handshake of this Moron’s Club.

Hang in there Spence. Keep working and relax. I still hope you make it. The one good thing you have going for you is they don’t want to have to cut you.

I hope Spence makes it as well. But its like we’re asking a LB to cover D-Jax. If the guy is on the wrong role no matter how hard he works he’s just not going to keep up. And I do think the guy is working hard. As I’ve posted after other articles, I saw him in training camp and thought he looked great and was going to have a breakout year. Whatever the reason, its just not working. I wish him the best.

I agree with the way the HC handled this question about our QB’s. He has to concentrate on the Steelers and more importantly to keep winning football games. As a long time Winston fan and Seminole fan I think that if Fitz and the Bucs win this next game which at this point is quite feasible, you don’t mess with the Mojo that the team has riding right now and instantly insert Winston back into the starting line up. What has stood out to me thus far is the play of our offensive line. The pass blocking has been vastly… Read more »

Very few draft picks actually come out to be a brilliant selections especially in the later and mid rounds.
Many people strive to be the best and love competition; that goes for Sports too. As long as you try your best, I would hope you would feel good about it whether you get the job or you make the team; I would hope it’s not always just for the money.

Naples is the second biggest moron here. Annoying, negative, long winded, know it all.
