The Bucs offensive line has been on a roll of late. They have led a historic rushing effort over the last several weeks, paving the way for running back Bucky Irving, Kenny Gainwell and Sean Tucker as the three have run for 820 yards and four touchdowns since Week 5. But the team sought fit to make a change to their depth on the line as they have claimed guard Trevor Keegan off of waivers from the Vikings today.

Background On New Bucs OL Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan is a former fifth round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024. He has bounced around the NFC, playing for the Eagles in 2024, the Cowboys last year and the Vikings this year. In claiming Keegan, the Bucs pick up the remainder of his rookie contract which includes 2027.
Keegan logged his most work his rookie season when he played 35 snaps at left guard in week 18 against the Giants. He allowed one pressure and one sack over 18 pass blocking snaps in that game.
He has also played eight games over the past three preseasons. This year was his best as he played for the Cowboys in the preseason, allowing one pressure over 75 pass blocking snaps while earning positive grades from Pro Football Focus as a run blocker. Despite the positive play, Keegan was waived as a part of Dallas’ final roster cuts before the regular season. Minnesota claimed him the following day. He played 3 snaps at left guard in Week 5 at New Orleans while adding 30 snaps across the season on the Vikings’ field goal unit.

Keegan is a former Michigan Wolverine. My scouting notes on him coming out noted his shorter arms being a struggle for him to overcome and a lack of balance paired with more average than plus strength. His feel for the position and ability to understand and counter how defenders were attacking him was a real strength.
Corresponding Roster Move
To make room for Keegan on the 53-man roster, the Bucs released offensive lineman Luke Haggard. Haggard has been with the Bucs since 2023 when he joined the team as an undrafted free agent out of Indiana. He has bounced back and forth between the team’s active roster and their practice squad. 2026 was the first year he made the team outright out of training camp.

Haggard saw the bulk of his career action in 2025 as Tampa Bay dealt with injuries to multiple offensive linemen. He played in six games, starting four, while playing 251 snaps. He allowed three pressures over 139 pass blocking opportunities. Haggard was an offensive tackle in college but has played guard almost exclusively at the NFL level. Tampa Bay has flirted with him at tackle in the preseason. With Justin Skule and Ben Chukwuma on the roster that skillset is redundant.
Keegan brings a different versatility as he has cross-trained at center, giving the Bucs an alternative to Dan Feeney in the interior of the line. Starting guard Cody Mauch is in the final year of his rookie deal. Having control over Keegan through 2027 gives the Bucs a secondary option to rookie Billy Schrauth if the team opts to not re-sign their red-headed wonder.
