Before their game on Sunday, the Bucs made one final move during a week of many important decisions. The Bucs have officially named their 2018 captains for the season. Making this list is WR Mike Evans, G Ali Marpet, and LB’s Kwon Alexander, Lavonte David and Adarius Taylor.
Coach Koetter confirmed that the captains will consist of two on both offense and defense, and one on special teams. Taylor is representing the special teams phase of the team. Most notably absent from this list is DT Gerald McCoy and QB Jameis Winston. McCoy had perviously been captain for over five years and Winston for the last two.
Lavonte David will get a special gold “C” on his jersey to commemorate this being the fifth year as a team captain. David is now the longest tenured captain on this Bucs team, followed by Mike Evans and Kwon Alexander at both two years. This is the first year as team captain for Ali Marpet and Adarius Taylor.
