PewterReport.com and Westshore Financial present the Pewter Nation Podcast, a weekly audio hour of news, analysis and inside scoop on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers delivered with a dose of humor and insight from Bucs beat writers Scott Reynolds, Mark Cook, Taylor Jenkins and Matt Matera, who also serves as the show’s producer. Look for the Pewter Nation Podcast each week on PewterReport.com for your listening pleasure during the 2019 offseason.

We’re into week three of the third phase of OTAs, and Scott Reynolds, Mark Cook, Matt Matera and Taylor Jenkins are ready for training camp to start. The entire group agreed this week saw some more or less of the same, but the loved the competition between Scotty Miller and Mike Edwards, as both were diving and being physical in a part of practice where you’re technically supposed to be.

One player that hasn’t arrived yet is Ndamukong Suh. We go down that road again of why his attitude and toughness is what that the coaches want, and that’s ultimately where these decisions come from.

Some debates rage on between Mark and Scott regarding a certain pronunciation of a name, and then they both get into some funny stories about their kids. There’s a little something for everyone on this episode of the Pewter Nation Podcast.

  1. I know it will be easier to judge this team better when pads go on. But, the way these rookie defenders are flying around as ballhawks isn’t going to change that much. Bowles wants turnovers and these rookies are the front runners to start until they are dethroned or outplayed.

We assumed Carlton Davis and VH3 were locks to start but now I am not so sure anymore.

  2. Enough, enough, enough with the ANNE – ANDY crap. How to ruin a podcast. A cute comeback every once in awhile is great. However Mark will just not let it drop. He has to have the last word. Please create a SHUT UP MARK light for the studio; and when it lights, he is forbidden from any further comment on the subject.

  3. I don’t think Bowles has ever had this much talent to play with.

  4. The bed is made, save for maybe changing the pillowcases as other teams release players. Its going to be a long wait until training camp. Go Bucs!

  6. Another interesting point I found was the winner of NCB job has to be the best blitzer. I agree but to what extent because the NFCS at some point will dictate a favorable matchup at some point.

Edwards was the favorite for NCB but he is clearly running away with a starting safety job which I suppose opens the door for another player to win the NCB spot now.

That will be an interesting battle to see play out as well.

  7. One of the worst pod cast. Don’t mind a little battering. This was way to much, Anne, Andy. Please stop. If not I will not bother with another pod cast and stop my patronage of Fords Garage and TA Mahoneys
