Never want to see anyone hurt. That was probably the last we see of conte as a buc.

I would be too if I got trukked that hard. I think I saw his soul get stiff-arm’d out of his body.

Looking forward to seeing Whitehead play. I have never been able to stand Conte and all his Pewter Report staff supporters – he’s terrible, always has been.

I do not rejoice that someone gets hurt, but I am glad the Justin Evans and Jordan Whitehead will be the tandem moving forward. Those of you that saw the game last night could see that Whitehead played extremely well when he was given the chance. Best of luck to Chris Conte in the future and I hope he recovers and heals just don’t want him on the Bucs anymore….

Vea better pan out or the fanbase will never forgive Licht for passing on SS Derwin James. Especially when it was a position of need and he was one of the best available players.

Or me. I’m whooped and hollered and rejoiced when we didn’t take James (and I’m still whooping, hollering and rejoicing).

Well you speak for me. James is playing at a Pro Bowl level and you guys are saying that you didn’t want him? That’s really smart of you or maybe I should go the other way with that!

At a Pro Bowl level? Like in the real Pro Bowl? As in no real tackling, points galore and defense is there for the free check?

So what if James has 2 sacks. Chargers are 1-2, in 3rd place in their division, and have a bottom five defense this year. Last year it was a top 5 defense before James was on the team.

James is over rated, just like Dalvin Cook was.

You do realize Bosa has not played yet this year. Wait until he is back in the fold. Then they are a top 5 defense again. You are ludacris if you do not believe that Derwin James has made that defense even better. You cannot blame the 1-2 start on just one player

I really don’t think you understand football based upon that statement and I mean no disrespect.

You see, if we trade for a player that can not be signed there is a strong chance he just leaves in free agency. Additionally, offense is not our problem. If we were to do anything, we should have traded for Khalil Mack. THAT would have been a game changer and possibly made us contenders in the playoffs.

Don’t get fooled by fool’s gold which is what Bell is. #MEMYSELFANDIPLAYER

Eric Reid. No one is kneeling anymore he won’t either. Whitehead is to green we have enough rooks in the secondary, he’s like a forth round pick? Not exactly Derwin James talent. I guess Conte’s knee couldn’t hold up from being run over. Wish him well, but hope it’s the last we see of him as a Buc.

I will get a lot of thumbs down for this, but I believe it will help the Bucs in a critical area of need. To replace S Chris Conte, now on IR, I would also seek to sign S Eric Reid. Ordinarily I would avoid a controversial player, but things have changed and we need serious help in the secondary. Here are the reasons I would pursue Reid at this time: *The Bucs need experienced help in the secondary – a day one contributor. *Reid is a Strong Safety and a former pro bowler. *He has not worked in a… Read more »

While we’re at it, lets add Todd Gurley and Kalil Mack too. Also, do you think its possible to add Tom Brady and Aaron Donald. Apparently reality and money don’t matter!

Who’s gonna be his roster replacement??? I dont wish ill will for Conte but I…I honestly thought he was a “Lovie” guy and I thought he should have been cut when Lovie got fired…dont know how he made the team for so many years… i remember some reports of him laying the hammer to the Titans RB in presesason practice…but he’s NEVER done that in any GAME that I’ve ever seen…Who’s gonna replace him???

I think it’s Whitehead’s job now. As far as the roster spot, Jameis Winston wasnt on the 53 because he was on the Suspended list. That’s who took the spot I think.

Eric Reid has said he won’t kneel anymore.

Personally I don’t have a problem with kneeling as long as it’s the end of the fourth quarter

Lol what knee??

That stiff arm is what put him on IR

He needs a place to lay low until ESPN gets tired of replaying his lowlight reel

Bucs have signed former Giants safety Andrew Adams to their 53-man roster. He’s 25, started 17 games in two seasons in New York.

Like I get we have whitehead but y are we signing a guy from the giants who couldn’t get on their roster??? Y not call Josh Robinson back or just bring in a more experience vet cuz we need that in our young secondary. We keep signing guys off the trash heap when there are two vet safeties who kno the system and cud come cheap in tj ward and Josh Robinson. Like I kno ward had a rough year last year but splitting time with a guy who u are better than has to b hard but I rather… Read more »

When ur starving and homeless a ham sammich doesn’t seem awful. Chris Conte was that ham sammich for a secondary that was starved of talent at all positions for the better part of 11 years, save for Talib, Grimes, and Revis being a tick above avg in their short times here. Conte’s not filet mignon, but a blessing to our decade long, trash azz secondary, he was.

Also, should we put a call in to Zaxby’s and pry Tj ward from his new day job?

Absolutely appalling, but certainly not unexpected, that a player gets hurt and folks are doing their best “good riddance” send-off. This brought back memories of the time QB Gary Huff was on the turf writhing in pain to a chorus of cheers from the stands from “fans” elated that he would be replaced by whoever was the back-up (I can’t remember). Of course the Bucs still lost.

Sad, that many never recognize that these players are human beings.

I didn’t understand why they released Tandy but I am pretty impressed with our remaining young DBs. The talent is there but it’s experience that matters back there. VH3, Conte and Grimes were/are that ‘experience’ and there will be a price to pay for their absence. If Vea can play – and the D line regains its full compliment of players, maybe enough pressure can be generated to offset the DB youth. Go Bucs!

Dman

Our problems on defense are with the line. The DB’s have done a decent job for the most part particularly given how young they are. We need Vita badly – we couldn’t stop the run straight up the middle in the 4th QTR. We also need an impact DE that rushes the passer. Yes, Conte got trucked by the TE, but did you happen to notice that guy IS A TRUCK and rolled over multiple defenders Monday night!

Ummm I agree that we need Vea back. But McCoy, JPP, and Curry all did a pretty good job. We just didnt do a lot of rotating on the line for some reason. So those guys were exhausted towards the end of the game.
