The Bucs have released defensive tackle Stevie Tu’ikolovatu per a report from Espn’s Adam Schefter. PewterReport.com can also confirm this roster move.

Tu’ikolovatu was drafted out of USC in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft, but didn’t play a regular season snap for the Bucs over two seasons, due to season ending injuries in both years.

He was placed on injured reserve in September of 2017 with a season ending injury, and then was again put on injured reserve almost a year later in August of 2018 for a torn tricep.

Before transferring to USC in 2016, Tu’ikolovatu spent two prios years at Utah where he played in 15 games. In his senior year at USC, Tu’ikolovatu notched 53 tackles, two tackles for loss, and half a sack for the Trojans.

Makes sense. GL to him. What an opportunity he had and may still have somewhere else. His skill set has undergone a major upgrade on this team during the offseason.

Bucs should pursue RT from SF, could be a steel now that they cut DT.

Ok, this move I simply do not understand. A BIG, strong man who was making peanuts. If nothing else, cheap camp meat. Oh well, good luck Tu’i

Who?

Kidding. I always had high hopes Stevie T. would become a Bucs diamond in the rough. Oh well. Maybe a trip back to the west coast will help him get his career back on track.

another Licht pick bites the dust! 2014 1 loan player remains (Mike Evans) 5 gone 2015 3 remain 4 gone (Kwon developed here so some credit even though he’s gone) 2016 5 remain 3 gone (this number will increase as VH3, Benenoch, Ryan Smith, Devonte Bond and Noah Spence are the remainders) arguably Licht’s worst draft 2017 3 reamin 3 gone (Beckwith could tip this scale 2-4) 2018 & 2019 too early to tell. So at BEST (and it won’t even be this pretty) Licht is sitting at 12-15. Most likely two of these players get cut before kick-off vs… Read more »

All you mentioned was draft. Licht has done pretty well with free agency. Probably better than average as GM. Draft maybe little under average but not horrible as Pewter Report already did the case to keep him and case to fire him. All things considered he’s on hot seat yes. If they have winning season he’s not going anywhere. Will see….

Building a case against Licht using the draft is futile, he’s done an above average job comparatively amongst other GM’s. Licht’s biggest issue and it’s not even close is Free Agent Signings: Anthony Collins, Michael Johnson, Swaggy Baker,JR Sweezy,Mitch Urien,Vinnie Curry,Josh Mckown,Brent Grimes and the List goes on and on. These players were signed to huge contracts at their positions and the returns were negligible, This has been year after year after year. This is the only year since Licht has been here that he’s signed only one big name FA Ndamukong Suh. You want to know why Licht’s on… Read more »

Are you guys all high? How can you attempt to excuse his drafting?

Tell you what, go and pick any GM in the league your choice and put his draft picks in the same time frame next to Licht’s, then come back and let’s have a discussion.

If VH3 , Vea and D. White play big this year Licht’s drafting isn’t an issue at all. His free agent signings have nearly sunk the entire franchise though. I thought Bruce Allen was the worst but Licht is clearly worse when it comes to free agent signings. Bruce Allen did sign Garcia for example while Licht’s best signings have been McDonald and Grimes.

We have nothing else to talk about so why not entertain this.
Brent Grimes was a bust by every other measure except when you compare it to all Licht’s other FA signings. At least Grimes played beyond 1 year after signing a huge contract.
Probably wouldn’t tell from this post but I actually like Jason Licht as our GM. Sure he needs to tighten up in some areas, but you can’t blame him for not trying. He’s definitely trying to bring a winner here to Tampa and I will support that all day. Go Bucs!!!
