The hit made by the Bucs’ outside linebacker occurred in the fourth quarter of Tampa Bay’s 46-23 win last Sunday at Carolina when Pierre-Paul tackled Bridgewater around the knees for the sack. Pierre-Paul was not penalized on the play.
Bridgewater came up limping in pain after the play and did not return with the game out of reach late in the fourth quarter as backup quarterback P.J. Walker came in to replace him. Bridgewater will be a game-time decision on Sunday in the Panthers game against the Lions at home.
This is the first time that Pierre-Paul has been fined this season. He leads the Bucs with 7.5 sacks on the year, putting him tied for sixth in the NFL and just two sacks behind the league lead.
