The Bucs have named there four practice squad protections for Week 18 and three of them have played pretty significant roles for the team over the past two weeks. They are wide receiver Cyril Grayson, running back Kenjon Barner, punter Sterling Hofrichter and kicker Jose Borregales.

Of the four none have stood out as much as Grayson has. With the loss of Chris Godwin and the abrupt quitting of Antonio Brown, Grayson has seized his opportunity. In Week 16, the 28-year old receiver entered the game with just two career receptions. He ended up with three catches for 81 yards and an 11-yard run. On Sunday Grayson caught the game winning touchdown a 33-yard strike to give the Bucs the lead with just 15 seconds remaining. Grayson finished that game with six receptions for 81 yards on eight targets.

Barner, who spent time with the team last season as well, has stepped in for Jaelon Darden as the team’s primary kick returner. He’s averaged 7.8 yards per punt return with zero kick return attempts. While Hofrichter has been active as the teams punter the past two weeks filling in for the injured Bradley Pinion. He’s averaging a dismal 37.8 yards a punt but has been solid as a holder.

Borregales has been a mainstay since week 2 and gives the Bucs a kicker in case COVID stikes or injury occurs to Ryan Succop.
