I'm just genuinely curious what is going through Licht's mind right now... Is he like "yes all going according to plan" or like arrested development "I've made a terrible mistake"?
Put on your sad faces people but the Bills have snagged Chubb.
3 year $43.55 MM contract.
The part in bold (3 years) seems to be the snag for the Bucs. The Gainwell deal is two years. The Robinson deal 1 year. The only offered Hendrickson a short term deal. The lost Evans to a 3 year deal.
still in value mode
So what would you folks think of:
- Joey Bosa
- Arnold Ebiketie
- A.J. Epenesa
- Jadeveon Clowney
I know these guys are out there, but I don't know much about them other than Bosa and Clowney, who seem to be on the downside of their careers.

Yeah, I think the Buccaneers are giving out shorter contracts because they know there is a high chance Bowles is gone after next year and they don't want the new staff to be tied to guys for 2 to 3 years.
no coach in their right mind would jump to do that except for the guy who was here or a brand new to the NFL head coach. If that is accurate, then I understand why you retain Bowles despite of my dislike for him. It makes sense
pretty logical explanation
If you pair that up with the Bucs still going short term on their FA contracts maybe they are hedging against Bowes likely departure post-2026. It doesn't make sense to have kept Bowles and then not help him out substantially, if you believe in him as a HC. If he's a placeholder though then you'd go slow this year, just like yeasr past, and keep signing only guys who take short deals so as to not be saddle the future team with guys who may not fit the next system.
just one possibility. watch us announce we traded for Crosby lol

The third and fourth year in contracts is considered phantom money so this shouldn't be an issue.
I am not sure I would call the Bucs in value mode. They just handed KG, Robinson and Browning a ton of loot and only Robinson has a chance of starting if he can beat out Roberts.

Maybe it is the Patriot way to sign a bunch of ham and eggers. But the Bucs need more talent beyond ham and eggers or lunch pail guys. Bucs need guys opposing teams fear like a Suh or JPP.

The Bucs even suggest as much, but the players don't follow ... unless by draft
The #Lions have agreed to terms with former #Buccaneers S/slot CB Christian Izien on a one-year deal, his agent @AgentAndySimms tells The Insiders.
Looks like we lost another FA.
[Tom Pelissero] Veteran DL Al-Quadin Muhammad is visiting the Bucs, per source.
Overall Defensive Grade: 74.3 (Ranked 30th out of 115 qualifying Edge Defenders)
Sacks: 11.0 (tied for 11th in the NFL)

White to the Commanders.
Bucs sign special teams ace and S Miles Killebrew for 1 year $1.8 mil.
Defensive signings so far have been 100% on the target. Just wish the Bucs would land some edge rushers to really boost morale in Bucs nation.
Gotta wonder a bit. It's only a one year deal. He couldn't get a one year deal with the Bucs? I guess if I'm a late round pick who may only play a few years I'm taking the biggest offer. A half a mil or something doesn't seem like a lot when you are talking about all the money thrown around this time of year, but for the depth guys you have to get while the gettings good. But still it's kind of mystifying that Izien didn't come back to the Bucs with the Lions offer to see if they would match it.The #Lions have agreed to terms with former #Buccaneers S/slot CB Christian Izien on a one-year deal, his agent @AgentAndySimms tells The Insiders.

Too bad I like Izien
