This pick is just awful given a much better LB was available.
We drafted for scheme not talent and if/when Bowles fails and a new regime comes in that values LBs that can cover, it'll be a tough decision on what to do with him.
And isn't Dennis already that "downhill blitzer"?
He was god awful in coverage and probably average to below average at the line or "serviceable".
I'm absolutely livid with this draft choice.
And the third round pick is even worse.
We need a guard and there was awesome value in Pregnon there to compete with Breadson and provide depth.

i get your point and it's amplified by the weird decision to keep Bowles but if that is the decision you have to be all in. Makes sense that they would draft for scheme. We just took a CB who could be a nickel or a safety even. Classic Bowles versatile player, but is he good at CB, our actual need?

Don't know much about the slot corner from Miami but quick glance is it's a solid pick. I like these late corners a lot

Licht’s job is to pick the best players, especially early in the draft, not the guys the HC wants. Especially when that HC was and still is on the hot seat. He can throw the coaches a bone on day three, but not one and two.

Dude we are 100% on the same page with this... That's my exact point.
Especially on a lame duck year. Now the pressure is really on for these guys to immediately impact.
I hope I'm wrong and we get great production stoping the run and Bowles gets his swag back blitzing with packages that aren't obvious.
