I will be shocked if either our 2nd or 3rd round pick have much impact this year or next. Long term, who knows maybe.
I assume Bowles is just wanting a blitzer... So we got the best blitzing LB instead of the best LB available.
Then he ignores obvious value on Pregnon who was mocked as high as the late first.

For some reason they do not view CJ Allen a green dot Mo ILB for this defense and do not view him as a candidate to play as a downhill blitzing Mike.. Plus, Trotter is going to be competing with Rozeboom and Dennis. Anzalone is your current green dot ILB to replace LVD.
The drafting of Hurst does make sense as they tried some project players as X WRs and it did not work out. This guarantees that Godwin sticks in the slot and allows EE and McMillan to move around too. I don't anticipate Hurst playing too much as a rookie.
Licht and the current Bucs FO has operated the entire off season with a sense of "we like our team" and they have picked up guys that are luxury pickups. Not much urgency to address interior OL or CB so far but there is day 3 but those players will be project players for the future and ST.
It’s always why your “in his lap” argument, to denigrate making the obvious pick, has always been poor. Sure, players fall in every GM’s lap. But they get the credit when they make pick, just like they get the blame when they don’t make the obvious pick and reach for a lesser player.
It’s happened before and it will likely continue to happen.

He's a very good run block and has plenty of frame to be serviceable in pass blocking. He's a third rounder for a reason. He was great at pass blocking too he's have gone much earlier

I was hoping Licht would of let Otton walk and pursue a better FA option or a high pick. But he didn’t. With the addition of Hurst, I’m not in favor of pulling a good WR off the field for less talented TE.

Doesn't change the fact that Licht has been extremely fortunate with players falling to him... But yes the fool can still find ways to mess it up.

I think on paper not the worst draft we've seen from Licht tbh. I think we could have done far worse. At least he didn't pass on Bain. Ideally Trotter has a long time NFL like his dad did. I would have done something different but maybe he will be good. I like the last two picks. He's been been pretty good this year. Like I said Licht is one of the better ones out there but he's still got a lot to improve on too as a fan but he's trustworthy I guess.

Yea id give a b for the draft. I think they drafted some positions of need and did ok at that. Usually need more time with a grade like that. Draft is more difficult than we understand. Feel like we have been one of better ones at it. I put way more blame on our coaches than our gm. Feel like he is handicapped by our hc and owners. Does the best he can. We really can improve at hc and our owners could spend more when we need to.
Trotter was not a need reach because cj and other lbs were still there. The Bucs liked trotter more than others at the position. A lot will be expected. 2nd rounders aren’t usually expected to start right away we’ll see.
