Love love love the Capehart pick.
Why? Not saying you're wrong but he started 12 games in 6 seasons.
He's nfl ready I guess with that age.
I liked other players more I listed above
Licht hitching his wagon to Bowles kinda says something...
Licht’s job is to pick the best players, especially early in the draft, not the guys the HC wants. Especially when that HC was and still is on the hot seat. He can throw the coaches a bone on day three, but not one and two.
Dude we are 100% on the same page with this... That's my exact point.
Especially on a lame duck year. Now the pressure is really on for these guys to immediately impact.
I hope I'm wrong and we get great production stoping the run and Bowles gets his swag back blitzing with packages that aren't obvious.
It's just weird to be to draft as if we are a contender
Yeah, if the GM is just picking players the HC wants, there is no real reason to have a GM. The HC can just pick the players on draft day.
The GM is supposed to have the present and the future in mind when picking players. The HC is mainly worried about winning now.

They're both worried about winning. Their jobs are on the line. So they are drafting for themselves and this year with blinders beyond that.
Schrauth gives us depth. Solid pick

One of the silliest ^^^ full on surrender type of posts: the totally fake "either/or"
It wasnt so long ago that you were suggesting that BPA is the way good teams draft, as if there was no intersection with need.
What did Licht say just yesterday about Bain?

You would think that is right. And again sort of the circumstances created by retaining Bowles.
we all get to see how it works out.

This is Licht’s fourth Head Coach he’s worked with. Just because the Head Coach gets fired doesn’t necessarily mean the GM goes with him.
At this point, if Licht has entrenched himself with Bowles in the owners eyes, then it may not matter. But if I’m Licht, I’m picking who I think the best players are. And if the HC/DC doesn’t use those players properly, that on him - and I can differentiate myself from him with my owners.
Do you know what a RAS score is? Do you understand what a RAS score is? Do you know how NFL scouts use the RAS score? He was 2nd in the entire draft at the DT position. He doesn't need to be NFL ready right now especially as a 5th round pick and the Bucs already have Vea, Kancey, and Robinson currently. But he is a FANTASTIC piece to the middle of the defensive line for when a real head coach gets here with a real DC. This is a long term vision piece that is needed because the current DT pieces on the Bucs roster aren't "it" long term and Vea isn't going to be here forever. Capehart is also another run-stopper, which is what you want up the middle and he has the size and speed to disrupt the O-Line at the line of scrimmage. This is a great pick.Love love love the Capehart pick.

Good point.
On the RAS part, I read he had a great 40 for his size, obviously, and alos I think broad jump or some other measure of athleticism
Agreed.Schrauth gives us depth. Solid pick
this is what the Bucs posted about him
"Schrauth was a two-year starter and a captain for the Fighting Irish. In 2025, he was named a second-team All-American and has experience starting at both guard positions. Schrauth is a technically sound blocker who fits right into a Buccaneers group committed to the process."

lol . . . digging deeper and deeper and deeper.
They dont have to be locked in together for their jobs to still be collaborating.
either/or

I know what it is...it's combine metric vs the past performance relative to position.
It's one data point...
6 years in college with that few starts and very limited productivity is a major concern. The analytics might outweigh that concern idk...
We needed dt depth so I'm fine with it I guess
