You sound like the Glazers

and Arians

Arians singing a slightly different tune now should mean Bowles is dead (not that there was much dispute to that), but @badabing Arians alludes to the answer to your question.

"Arians did a bit of a media tour yesterday as he promotes a prostate cancer screening blood test.

During his stop with Yahoo! Sports, the subject of knowing when to fire a head coach came up, as well as when owners and front office types want to make that move.

The front office disagreeing with the coaching staff is a common issue, Arians acknowledged. “That’s always the fight back and forth, ‘Don’t have the players; Yeah, I know you can’t coach’em,’ Arians said.

While Arians said play on the field usually speaks for itself, what he called “uncommon mistakes” are a major red flag for a general manager.

He added that for owners it is very much about attendance and things tied to fan revenue.

The “fracture,” as Kaufman calls it, is very much about a coach and GM distancing themselves from each other when the bottom falls out. “I’ve seen it many times,” says Kaufman, who began covering the Bucs in 1985.

I did not see or hear the actual interview so grain of sale but it jumped out to me becuase of the reporting about a post-season meeting with Arians and the Glazers

The Dolphins straight up lack talent but you can't say the same with the Chargers, Texans and Bucs.

I hope to be wrong about this but the one reason the Bucs might not turn it around is because the losses to date are a symptom of quitting. and with Bowles even MORE lame duck then before the season, its hard to imagine the team rallying

Hope I am wrong.  They should be able to compete with the Cowboys because they can run it on them all day long BUT if that Thursday night game is a BLOWOUT loss expect it to all fall apart even more

how did the Bucs quit?  They lost all 1 possession games.

You sound like the Glazers

and Arians and Parcells and Quarels and Barber

next you'll say it was all Grizz's fault.

they suck.  doesn't mean they quit

they didn't suck in 2024 and first half of 2025

and I said they quit ON THE COACH

I dont have anyway to know this but Parrish gets an interception by coming off his man/out of his zone late. Could have been planned, but also could be frustrated successful freelancing

crazy how you hold onto a month of football last year.  I simply give credit that Baker wasn't playing poorly in the first half when i split into halves.

But if we are being honest, the Bucs were not even that good in first half of 2025 outside of 2 games

Week 1 - W 23-20 over Atlanta. Bucs were down 20-17 late in 4th quarter, take the go ahead touchdown and win on a missed field goal by Atlanta.  They scored the league average in points - 23 - but hardly a dominate performance

Week 2- W 20-19 over Houston. Bucs had 14 points scored well into the 4th quarter.  Special teams allows a blocked punt, D holds to 3. Next drive, Special teams allowed a 53 yard return, Houston scores on 2 plays.  Yes, impressive drive by Baker and team to win late in the 4th but hardly a "good' performance by the O here

Week 3 - W 29-27 over NYJ.  I mean what was that? Somehow allowed them to score 21 points in the 4th up 23-6 at a point.  hardly impressive

Week 4 - L 31-25 to PHI - getting blown out 24-3 before they started to make a comeback led by D dominance over PHI in second half. Of course, a bucky fumble ended the comeback in all reality

Week 5 and 6 - WE WERE GREAT.  That was a good team with our wins over the 49ers and Seahawks.  These appear to be a fluke performance when assessing the last 2 years.

Week 7 - Offense was putrid in prime time versus Detroit

Week 8 - offense was putrid against NO and D dominated for the win.

so says the 8 games of 2025 guy? lol KIDDING

That is not what I was saying, I was saying what Arians just said

I was saying that when NFL players quit on a coach they start straying from the system, putting in less than full effort ec.  That manifests itself by INCONSISTENT play and losses that might not be losses because they are missing the attention to detail and consistent effort that had them winning in 2024 and 2025, first half.

Arians example what uncharacteristic mistakes as the big red flag. In 2024 Mayfield is still getting sacked and turning over the ball, but they are winning because they are rarely shooting themselves in the foot and Mayfield is playing within the system (throwing the balk way, for example). In later 2025 and this year you have good players like Goedeke having 3 or 4 false start penalties. You have Mayfield trying to do too much (not playing within the confines of the offense, throwing ball away etc). Just last game you had Walker letting a WR block him even when he knows his run defense is under scrutiny. In the preseason he was called out by Barber for "loafing."

These are the things a team does when the players are looking past the current games and when they dont think the coach can help them win. They dont QUIT ("I refuse to play") they mentally quit, less effort stupid mistakes, playing their own way or for themselves, death by a thousand paper cuts

I GUARANTEE you that many Bucs players thought Bowles was gone last offseason.  When he came back they probably said to themselves "we cant do anything about it so okay lets give it a shot." Lose game 1 BAD, lose game 2, lose game 3, lose game 4 . . . any "okay lets give it a shot' goes out the door.

This is why posted in the prediction threads that so much depended on how they did early. A cowboys blowout will kill them, a weird win because the Cowboys cant stop the run, underestimate them . . . maybe a little renewed hope but even then very tenuous

well if you were one of those players you would not be excited about this season. And even less so after 4 losses to open.

how did the Bucs quit?  They lost all 1 possession games.

This Thursday will be the first blow out and at that point, will determine how the team bounces back

but to be clear it's a lack of talent issue and coaching issue with the Bucs. at the most important position, Baker has been in a funk and now we are starting an undrafted rookie QB.  If we have average QB play, this team is probably 3-1, or at worst 2-2.

If we had average QB play and scored more points teams would be more aggressive on this defense.

Things don't exist in a vacuum.

so now we are talking hypotheticals on the defense being worse than they've shown if the offense was better? lol

You mean game script. Game script is what you're looking for...

wonder what management was thinking...like we all knew it wasn't going to work out (albeit, we were homers we can win the weak division and nobody saw 14+ loss season)

exactly what I keep posting

The Glazers are Bowles believers to begin with because they watched him SUCCESSFULY navigate away from the Trask plan to 2023 and 2024. People here may not agree with that BUT it should be obvious from their comments. Their "favorite son" GM tells them that Bowles is doing great "with what he has to work with."

That is how they are entering the 2025 season and the 2025 season starts great!

Along the already injured path of 2025, Mayfield is hurt and the team loses a bunch of close games and still almost makes the playoffs (albeit in collapse)

They all meet postseason.

1. The key players (especially retiring LVD) and legends (Barber and Quarles, who work for the Glazers) all give their vote of confidence in Bowles especially because they were so close to the playoffs (people here see that as a mirage - "playoffs mean nothing" lol - it is the PRIMARY goal for the Glazers for multiple reasons).

2. ALL PLAYERS - if even asked Mayfield, Evans etc all say "they love Bowles" because that is what players do. Wirfs just said that. (Bowles decision is January, Evans leaves in March so the idea that Evans says something is absurd he wants to get PAID the $26 million his agent talked about and the Bucs are the best chance)

3. The Glazers get a call from  their HERO (twice offered to run the Bucs) Parcells and he is 100% in Bowles corner

4. Their "favorite son" Licht is 100% Bowles and say he just needs defensive talent and a better OC than Grizz (the fall guy)

5. The "godfather" Arians flies to Tampa specifically for the meeting and is 100% in Bowles corner, injuries and "quickest way back to the playoffs"

With that mind of backing of course they are giving him one last try. The plan is to "clean house" and fire Grizz to try to appease fans, but Bowles stays.

And if you doubt that is the way it actually played out just look at the difference now: Licht NOT on the sideline and Arians talking about that being normal BUT that the GM has to worry when there are "uncommon mistakes." They are all distancing themselves.  The post 2025 save Bowles meeting will NOT happen post 2026

(The Glazer are not reading the Red Board, they are taking advice from the professionals (Licht, Barber, Arians etc) invited to their Star Chamber. And fwiw there is actual reporting to back up everything I posted above its just that many here ignore it or discount it because its hard to reconcile with their own thoughts. Totally normal. Human nature. Thats why we have conspiracy theories)
