If all goes 3/4 as well as we Buc fans hope, things will get much more expensive.
The fallout expressed in Bakers presser, is not a tempest in a teapot. Baker took pains to stress the importance of his teammates, made a case for Vita’s extension, discussed Wirffs similar disrespect, even threw Bowles a bone about the staff & changes made… but showed anger and openly talked about the owners/Licht disrespected him. With Jeremy Fowler he even disclosed he had been conciliatory on the longevity of a contract.
Of course, a new contract (now or next season) could turn the whole thing into a tempest in a teapot…
Or, it doesn’t.
Still, disrespecting your self-described franchise QB (after the organization inititiated the extension discussion), not extending any of the 4 other Buc stars, future stars, and key contributors… isn’t a great way to head into the season.
But the die has been cast. All to be determined on the field.
