How can you say he did the right thing
Pretty easy. I will lay it out in stats when I get a moment.
your position is the defense is to blame for not giving the offense enough chances.
will post the stats
The offense blew it. Season over. Save the “Stat search” for your mom
So you are a pre pubescent teenager now?
Ok let me know when your balls drop, sonny boy.
"I’ve been here 12 years, and my ownership group, the Glazers, are amazing. I’ve gotten to have a personal relationship with all of them. They’ve stood by me, they’re a great group, and they really want to win badly. It’s always helpful when the owners’ number one priority is winning.”
We weren't better than the Lions.
We were twice.
We beat them in their place and then our playoff defense of the Commanders was BETTER.
This is hilarious.
Just like the Broncos were better than us FOUR times!
They beat us at our place and then they held KC to half the points we did.
On top of that, they held the Falcons to 6 points.
Lastly, they never let the Saints score more than 10 points in their matchup.
WOW!

Yeah, it's not quite the level of your mother jokes.

Here's a really easy way to see it.
Our offense was playing against the 22nd ranked scoring defense (25 points per game) and it was a defense that was almost the WORST rushing defense in the league, giving up 145 yards per game and 177 per game in the last 3 games.
The formula is EASY and its right in our wheel house. We are at home. Score early (tied for league lead in TDs on first drives and run, run and run to keep Daniels off the field.
INSTEAD THE OFFENSE COMES OUT FLAT . . and we often lose when we came out flat on offense (cowboys, broncos, 49ers, chiefs)
INSTEAD . . our offense generated ONLY 20 points against that 25 ppg defense and, as we all know, was the culprit of MULTIPLE negative IMPACT plays (fumble, etc).
To give that some context:
We scored 37 against the Commander is game 1. (-17 POINTS in playoff)
Against BETTER defenses during the season we put up
40 on the Chargers (away) (-20 in the playoff game)
33 on the Eagles. (-13 in the playoff game)
31 on the Ravens (-11 in the playoff game)
51 on the Saints (-31 in the playoff game)
Our 20 and lower offensive outputs during the season were Broncos (#3 scoring defense), Detroit (11th scoring defense), the 49ers (29th scoring defense BUT WE HAD NO RECEIVERS). Our offensive performance in this game Matched some of our WORST games of the year.
So, our offense UNDERPERFORMED IN ALMOST EVERY CATEGORY and then added in MULTIPLE BLOWN PLAYS. In fact, the POSITIVE impact plays for the Bucs are on the defensive side of the ball.
We stopped them on downs early, only to have the offense PUNT. (and this was no fluke, the key play is s stuffed run and a SACK). Our offense punted because of a BAD chop block penalty 15 yards on Irving
We made a goal line stand, only to have the offense FUMBLE
YOUR ARGUMENT:
You try to say that is on the defense because of the "bend dont break" BUT thats not the only reason we have limited possessions.
We have limited possession (and limited scoring) because the offense come out terribly flat (against a terrible defense) mostly based on rookie failures
Drive 1 - FG** . . because our rookie sensation(McMillan) dropped a sure first down on 2nd and 7. Watch the play. Ball hit both hands in FD distance. Routine fist down. He just tries to run too early. We go back to him very next play (3rd and 7) but the Commanders are all over it. ZERO chance.
(**we were tied for the league lead in FIRST-DRIVE TDS, so here is the offense UNDERPERFORMING right out of the gate)
Drive 2 - PUNT -- against almost the WORST run defense in the league we go run for NO GAIN (wirfs no push) and then TWO YARDS (Otton destroyed) on back to back runs. And then on 3rd and 8 -- WATCH THE PLAY -- McMillan again. He rounds off his break instead of hard cut and first down. Mayfield is forced to run for 1 yard.
(they score a TD)
Drive 3 -- PUNT Irving - - with a bad chop block penalty kills the drive
so the point is that the offense starts incredibly slow owing mostly to terrible play by rookies. And if you look at the season when we started slow on offense we often lost. . . cowboys, broncos, 49ers, chiefs
We all know the offense later fumbles and even then chokes the last drive with TWO back to back BLOWN plays
The offense struggled EARLY on its own. Not because of long drives. FG, PUNT, PUNT . .. execution errors
Just so you can watch the plays i reference. I will address the defensive performance next

because of the "bend dont break"
The Lions played the shootout game the next week. The Commanders put up 45. This is from one recap"
"Daniels zoomed the Commanders up and down the field, never punting in the first half while Washington put up 31 points. Daniels made quick, easy reads, and, when they were there, dropped dimes downfield for explosive plays. The rookie's 271 combined rushing and passing yards were the most in a first half of a playoff game since Tom Brady had 282 in a Super Bowl LII loss to the Eagles."
In our first half our defense held Daniels to 108 yards passing and 30 yards rushing and 1 TD, so combined 138 versus RECORD SETTING 271 yards and 31 points. Take away the defensive TD and thats 24 points versus 10 we allowed.

Our offense only put up 10 pts in the first half. In some of our season wins our FIRST HALF OFFENSE put up 16 (Was), 13 (Detroit), 24 (Eagles), 24 (Saints). Even the bad loss to Atlanta the offense put up 24 in the first half and the Chargers we only put up 10 but then exploded with 17 in the third LARGELY with the running game kicking in.
So the point is that anyone's GAME PLAN for this playoff game would have to be to do exactly what the Bucs do when they win. Score ealry and run. . . against ONE OF THE WEAKEST RUN DEFENSES in the league.
The defense does its part. The offense does not.
The problem is that football fans often focus on last plays and its true the defense gave up a field goal but that is not why we lost. We lost because we didn't play ON OFFENSE the way we were capable and had played all season AGAINST BETTER DEFENSES . . .even while our defense was playing at or above its expected level for this season, if we are being honest.
To that last point (at or above expected level) the Commander are 28 PPG offense held to 23 and SHUT OUT in the first quarter (when we should be jumping to the lead).
The Commander are basically Daniels (QB), McLaurin (WR) and Robinson (RB).
As you would expect, our defense shut down Robinson (16yds versus an almost 60 average) and we held McLaurin largely in check (PLAYING MAN lol) UNTIL . . . until Dean goes out injured and he gets a TD right after on Hayes.
Daniels has 36 yards running and is 24/35 for 268 with two TDs.
The following week against the Lions he is 22/31 for 299 with two TDs and he runs for 51 yards. So better completion percentage, more yards on less throws and more damage running.
That first TD that you glossed over was a SEVENTEEN PLAY, 9 minute, 92 yard drive.
Cmon man.

and that first drive resulted in only a FG because McMillan dropped a first down in his hands on 2nd and 8.
in other words, your response is to ignore all the offensive failure I pointed out to go to the defense in a game where our offense failed over and over.

Fire, let's try a test of intellectually honesty.
in my posts I acknowledge the defenses role (long drives). I say it was not the only reason though.
Do you agree that our offense substantially underperformed, particularly early on?
If you agree with that do you agree that there was a pattern to our 2024 losses and that it often involved slow starts by the offense?

DH, I'd invite you to respond ... maybe a chance for a civil conversation
