Dan Campbell + Jared Goff is rah rah coach and stoic QB = regression the past couple of years.

Todd Bowles + Baker Mayfield = Stoic coach and rah rah QB = better each year

Awful assessment

For sure.

Like... In what world are the lions regressing? They were decimated by injuries on defense. He's constantly gotten the most out of his players and the situations he possibly can.

His aggressive nature literally won them games they should have lost, while Bowles conservative nature lost us games we could have won.

Just wild...

Campbell is going against 3 good teams. Bowles is going against 3 shit teams.

I'm blown away by these takes.

If Bowles did what Campbell did at the end of the 1st half Week 2 you guys would still be crying about it.

How soon some (one?) of us seem to forget that the Lions, with worse injuries on their defensive side than the Bucs, went 15-2 and won the much tougher NFC North. Seems they did better with their injury challenges than some other team(s). 😊

Decimated by injuries???  You should have watched the Bucs play last year, they had just as many injuries.  Our prized safety played injured the entire season.  Stop.  Any and all Bucs fans if given the opportunity to switch personnel and coaching with the Lions wouldn’t do it.  Not one.  Tampa is in a much better short term and long term position than the Lions.  Not debatable.

At home, scored like 3 points in the 4th quarter.  Lost to the Bucs.  Stop the excuse making for this moribund franchise.  The Lions window has officially closed.  Campbell ain’t the guy.

Campbell is replacing both coordinators this season, which isn’t easy. I’m curious to see how that team responds to the new guys. The OC has some pretty big shoes to fill.

After dumping the waste of space in Byron Leftwich, Bowles has been 2/2 in OC hires. Hopefully he continues to bat 1.000 with Grizzard.

I don’t think you pay much attention to the league. There was no team that had more injuries than the Lions in 2024, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Bowles did a good job we got a playoff team when expectations were 1 and done that Canales year. 2nd year he needs to be more Arians and give the team soem extra juice in midseason when players/coaches are more worn down. I liked the look he had against washington he had more urgency in his body language.

One big thing is guys been in this system for years now they gotta start being their own "artist" understanding the parameters of the defense and to push the coverage. We play systematically sound but too systemy where there is no variance of "artist". We should know what we cna and cant do in every scenario by now when different routes/concepts are ran. I think this is also why we don't have as many picks because as oxymoronic as it sounds guys are always where they're "suppose to be"

"The freedom comes with the discipline, that they learn how to do their job and they understand it so well that they know the primers and boundaries of what they can and can’t do," (Pete) Carroll said.

"That allows the expression of freedom to come out and the opportunity to improvise to some extent. That comes from discipline and repetition and great practice and great experience. Just think of it as in the world of performance, dancers and musicians get better, they keep playing, and they take themselves into a different realm of freedom and improvisation that allows them to really express what they’re all about. Hopefully, in our world here, that’s what happens."

This when he had the Legion of Boom

i just have a bunch of quotes in my folder

I assumed such a wild take would have to come with ignorance.

Yes we lost Winfield for a 5 or 6 games. Yes Dean got hurt per usual. We had a handful of other injuries to our secondary depth. Certainly not ideal...

But nothing compared to what the lions overcame.

I mean shit, Hutch injury alone was more than ours arguably.

Lions will likely regress this year. Winning 15 games then losing key coaches will do that.

But they are a lock for 10 wins in the best division in football.

The Lions are getting worse.  So now, instead of having home field advantage they will be traveling to LA to play the Lions and will get bounced.

Lolz at the best division in football.  It’s the NFL.  All the teams are good.

the NFC South and AFC south are absolute jokes.

bucs should go 5-1 in that division and somehow manage to top out at 4-2 each year

We could start trask against the saints this year and win both games. The panthers should be improved but they will suck again and canales may be on the hot seat

bucs should easily go 5-1 on paper and that’s because mainly the talent is the worst division in football. Plus, this is the most talented Bucs team under the mayfield era
