Yes, at least it appears that we have talent for a competent platoon at edge… but we’re really thin at corner
New OC Coach is my concern not as much as a weakness. I know all the comparisons that were out there but over reading them is too much knowledge. Can't wait till pre season.
Edge but in the traditional, one on one winner role, like Shaq at his best. Obviously, EVERY team wants that kind of player, but isn't Braswell sort of like Diaby meaning stop the run first, pressure while staying in lane etc? If so, then isnt Bowles setting up pressure UP THE MIDDLE by a lot of zone blitzing, particularly with Dennis replacing White? This was Bowles recently:
“[Dennis is] a very good blitzer, actually,” Bowles said. “We hadn’t started to do that yet.”
I think Braswell even dropped into coverage some while at Alabama, so the JTS role. And with he combo of Winfield, Whitehead and Smith to keep teams guessing at the LOS?
@bucsbits - I’m all for some zone blitz packages and mixing up who we’re bringing on blitzes, but that should be our wrinkle. We can’t hide a weak edge pass rush from good teams. They will take advantage.

A 3-4 OLB dropped into coverage some? Who woulda thunk it?
so the JTS role
Or, the role of every 3-4 OLB

i guess that’s a “no” to the transplant.
Barton - “The D-line as a whole has been great. [Chris] Braswell—seen him make a lot of plays. I think he's been really impressive. Great athlete. Excited to watch him. Glad he's on our team."
Ramirez is looking the part physically and going through the drills with no problem. So he and Watts may make the platoon work after all at edge.
Biggs with the hilariously flaccid attempt to troll. The point is just to compare 2021 off the chart pressure to next two years and you see White and Barrett drop off. So, they seem to think Dennis(Britt?) provides some of that White rush and JTS/Braswell IMPACT (individual stats and impact on other pressure) over last year improved the pressure overall as compared to dumping $ on FA.
If you’re going against Bowles last year you’re spreading things out to keep blitzers away and maybe quick passing. Not sure much has changed for this season
If we have Diaby performing as well as he did last year - without much help from Shaq - then it won’t take much from Gregory/Nelson/Braswell on the other side/alternating. May actually be an improvement at edge.
I remain hopeful & interested to see how/if this comes together.

As long as the front seven do their jobs then I am not too worried about the back end that much. Bucs have enough DB players to move around to disguise coverages on the backside. Between Whitehead, Winfield, Smith, McCollum and Dean this is probably the most athletic secondary the Bucs have ever fielded in terms of raw speed and athleticism.
Yep, there are a few “Jacks” (ala Jim Knowles) in this secondary …Yes, at least it appears that we have talent for a competent platoon at edge… but we’re really thin at corner

Palmer and McMillan are already better than anything Miller gave us. While I appreciate Miller being on the good side of one of the best plays in our franchise history, he’s a one trick pony and that trick is on display maybe 15 -20 times per year if that. You could make an age argument at WR I suppose but, I think Tampa has a top 10 WR room in the league still.
