Picks like this are the reason why I suggest Licht considers being aggressive. Sitting back and waiting sometimes isn't the best approach when trying to fill premier positions. QB, LT, DE

I mean he did it for Wirfs and you see how that turned out.

agreed

The only open question has been whether from 2022 to 2025 "sitting back and waiting" was driven by the dead cap.  No such excuse this season, although PR seems to think the Bucs have too many high pay players to do much

The problem with Braswell is that he doesn't play with power either consistently.  Or violent hands or leverage.  He is just there.  If he is going to be playing contain just convert him to LDE and let him fill a gap to stop the run because that is what Hall does.

An edge must win with speed, leverage or power.  Braswell doesn't show any of these three qualities in a consistent manner.

I called him A. Jennings 2.0 and that is what he is.

In a classic 43 Braswell would be a classic SAM backer in an under front.  In a 34 Braswell is not a fit for OLB and maybe should be converted to ILB or LDE.

Yeah, he gets stonewalled on the reg on power moves and isn’t fast enough to get around the edge on speed moves.  He’s not “learning” or  “thinking” too much. He just isn’t very good.

Players don’t always improve, regardless of what the ignorant leghumper spouts. Braswell is further proof of this.

The long journey of "learning" and "thinking" too much will continue elsewhere for Chris Braswell.

Braswell played in every game for two seasons, only managing 2.5 sacks during those two full seasons. What a horrible pick.

Hated that pick when it happened. Hate it even more now. What a waste.

I didn't hate the Braswell selection because he was a project that maybe the Bucs could refine.  But I did not see the value of drafting him that high because he was a reach given what he has shown at the collegiate level.  Even as a 4th rounder it was questionable to draft Braswell, but I doubt people would give Licht as much grief if Braswell was drafted in that round.  A round 2 pick has to show clear athletic attributes that stand out on tape and Braswell didn't have that dynamism to his game. Similar complaint many people voiced over Hall too.

If you reach on someone it better fucking land.

Especially in the second fucking round.

Awful pick by Licht.

Cole Bishop made way more sense.

The Texans have picked up Braswell for their PS.  I am interested as to why the Texans have an affinity for Hall and Braswell as projects.  I suspect it has to do with the potential power in their game but the problem is neither has shown they can covert that power into pass rush moves to make tackles off balance.  The Texans are loaded with edge rushers

Braswell is a zero risk project, but Hall is a back up.  Ryans discussed why he signed Hall and its basically the same thing the Bucs got from Hall

"From Logan, starting out for us seeing him playing as an interior guy, playing that 3-technique (defensive tackle) position. Long, physical guy, has enough wiggle I think to get more in the pass rush; he can get on the edge, he can win,” Ryans said. “He can get into our scheme playing how we play; attacking the line of scrimmage is really going to help him, really going to streamline his game and really enhance the traits that he has. He’s a tough, long, physical guy.”

Well that is the problem because yes he is tall an physical but as 3 technique you need leverage too and explosion and Hall does not have it. Kayden McDonald who is listed as the backup LDT has more explosion than Hall.

It is just baffling to me but I guess we will find out.
