Its almost as if that “not a true WR1” can play any position.

LMAO.  Now dont challenge me to a fight after you read this, but that post is PROOF it is ALWAYS a mistake to follow Biggs . . especially when there are RECEIPTS

Luckily, there are receipts because by my argument then  . .  Evans was the "true #1 receiver" for the 49ers (but he may not have been for the Bucs in 2026)  . . .and he was not really then BY THE DEFINITION PROVIDED.

So, here. . .  let me help you two out (again):

Mike Evans is the Bucs #1 receiver for sure, but theres a pretty easy argument that he's not really a true #1 if by that its meant that he is the CONDUIT for the offense

Thats not a knock on Evans and if anything is at least partly reflection of the prevalence of zone defenses.  Huge fan of Mike, but he's probably not in the top 10 against zones (Hill, Jefferson, Adams) but thats just a guess.  He's probably #1 against man though, at least in my book.  He is awesome because he is TALL and FAST.  That combination makes him great in open spaces and against man. Not saying Evans cannot do the Godwin zone stuff, just that he typically does not because its not his role even though it is commonly the role of most true #1 receivers.

Godwin is the zone beater in the Bucs offense.  Thats why BOTH guys are great and very important.

The Bucs are best in their current configuration -- Godwin and Evans - precisely because they are tough to stop when both are healthy, assuming Godwin is in his Arians' offense role.

and, not surprisingly, I had Liam Coen on my side.  You know him . . . offensive guru and all

"Coen sees great potential for Bucs' wide receiver Chris Godwin in a similar role.

"You've got a guy [in Mike Evans] that's 6-4 and change, 220, and can move like he does," he said on Tuesday after being introduced to the local media. "Then you've got a guy like Chris that I think can be really dynamic on the inside. That's where I envision him playing, is more on the inside, playing that 'F' position that ultimately Cooper played. A lot of things do run through that. So I'm excited about him."

Just to make it clear that Biggs is a TROLL lmao.

Oh wait . . I guess that as obvious anyway  ("WK14 White is RB1") bwhahaha, but here was my "football, but not fanboy" take on Evans first game with the 49ers

He's doing great. Should even get some credit for the deep ball to the other receiver because he was attracting all the attention underneath.

I thought he looked great and he was used exactly as he was being used here so kudos to him for that too. He had the one low drop, but geez he is almost every first down they had early on.

Hope he keeps it going because he is in a perfect spot.  They need him badly

You might almost say he was the CONDUIT for the 49ers offense.  Liam Coen might even agree
