Crosby was a move for a team that's a contender.
We're not one.
Again, this team is far closer to a full house cleaning and rebuild than anything else.
Literally had the same record last season.
You think these 2 teams are comparable?
LOL!!!
8-9 = 8-9
And neither team was a contender.
Bucs offense is super bowl caliber but the problem is the defense. The Ravens are more balanced team which is why they are considered a contender.
Agreed about the notion of addressing Edge. It seems to always goes unattended to and always seems to rear its ugly head at critical times during the season. I would not have given up two 1s for Crosby. I am hoping maybe they can look at Hendrickson knowing that its probably going to cost them in the neighborhood of $30-35M per season. I also think the team can address the LB problems in the draft completely as rounds 1-3 and maybe 4 are stacked with LB talent. However, a veteran Edge guy would be nice to anchor the D-Line. The price tag is what worries me given the current team salary versus the cap.@theknees I’ve fought on here for 4 offseasons about our edge players. Everyone always says we’ll be fine and then mid way thru the season they say we have no 4 man pressure. And then we get to the offseason and I fight with everyone again about our edge players. We’ve got to get a productive edge… in free agency or I’ll see you here again next year.
Licht has been very timid addressing edge because they have invested a lot of resources on the backend which has been a fatal flaw.
I think Licht need to rebalance the cap space on defense to be more on the front seven or balanced between front seven and secondary.
Other than Vea who is on a big long term contract in the front seven?
Licht hasn’t made any above average moves since BEFORE we won the Super Bowl. That’s over half a decade ago. He’s been very meh since then. He is very due for some criticism.
If Licht gets Hendrickson, I'll be pleased. Schefty's recent comments are interesting. If Licht can get Mike back AND Hendrickson, I'll be ecstatic.

The Ravens defense was roughly the same as the Bucs, 23.4 PPG versus 24.2 PPG, and worse than the Bucs yard per game, 354.5 ypg versus 337.2 ypg
They are a contender because they are the Ravens and they have Jackson
Albert Breer:
"“The free agent class sucks,” Breer said on his MMQB show for Sports Illustrated.
“I think it’s not good, yeah. I think it’s just we’re at the point there where the salary cap has escalated into an area where if you want to keep a guy, you can keep a guy.”
Breer cited as examples how Colts receiver Alex Pierce and versatile Broncos defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers are about to strike massive deals without being elite threats.

Breer also referenced how the upcoming NFL Draft is so deep in edge rushers and receivers that the free agency market will be affected as a result at the position. Conversely, Breer said, running back is relatively weak in the draft, so teams will pounce on RBs in free agency. Her cited the Lions already trading RB David Montgomery to the Texans for a package of draft picks as an example."

Nah.. apples to oranges. Bucs play the falcons, saints, and Panthers 6x/year. The ravens had injuries too while the Bucs defense was relatively healthy sans Kancey who is always hurt and our old players.

I was only saying the Ravens defense was also bad last year. How about head to head opponents.
We gave up 19 to the Texans. The Ravens gave up 44
We gave up 24 to the Lions. The Ravens gave up 38. (Jackson is QB)
Both gave up 28 to the Patriots - Maye with a 103 rating against them, 80 ish against us
The Ravens D gave up those points even with the 2nd best run game to support them
They are definitely much more of a contender than the Bucs BUT their defense wasn't very good. Pass rush and injuries.

Because they were injured. I don't think it was a good defense either but they play better offenses and they had way more injuries so going into next year I assume they will be better than us defensively unless Licht builds out the front 7.
The Ravens talent on the backend is better than the Bucs. Madubuike is a better version of Kancey for the most part and their off ball LBs are clearly better. The Ravens defensive depth might be worse than the Bucs but I think they will address that this off season.
The Ravens owner also had the guts fire their HC, while Tampa’s are good with mediocrity.

injuries don't matter
lol kidding.
yes I agree with your post and also alldaway post that they are better on the backend. It's one reason they are more of a contender.
last season their defense looked lifeless and even confused at time.
