Long answer: his tape looks pretty bad. I'm not sure if this is a function of scheme and coaching or if his combine was accurate but there's a few things I've noticed.
He lines out extremely wide. I wonder if he'd be better lined up closer and given more stunts etc.
He's dropping in coverage. I don't know the number but I keep seeing it same as Diaby.
He's not getting the bend on his dip move.
He's not utilizing a spin move much either.
This is all anecdotal as I've only seen the "true pass rush" plays in film. I haven't review his run game grade or his coverage grade (lol).
My guess is that he's hiding an injury and the scheme is shit but I am a little worried.

Ive seen the injury thing and if that is the case I would sideline him until he's 100%. A pretty good draft choice invested and he's worth being a little patient for it's he is not healthy. You don't want damaged goods.
It's only been a few games but not good so far. The scheme as we know sucks too so a lot of that can be it as well. Wouldn't shock me if we fired bowles and hired a decent defensive coordinator to take his place that we would see at least a little boost in production from a lot of our players not just bain.

That's what I'm thinking. He's injured. He looks hesitant. If he is then sit him and play Walker/Muhammad.
No, but certainly concerning if he's injured. He doesn't seem to be playing with the power and violence we saw in college or throughout the offseason. If his shoulder is hurt, Bucs should be protecting him by rotating in other pass rushers like Muhammad, Walker, and Nelson.

If his shoulder is hurt then put him on IR. We have 2 players that can make an impact.
Bain playing hurt gives us no production and it's just an unnecessary risk

Also, isn’t he lining up on the opposite side of where he predominantly took his college snaps?
