He just resigned Otton... What the fuck are we doing here?
Has he lost his mind?
Hopefully he's got something better in mind for the offseason beyond resigning our underperforming players.
Hahaha I knew that one would kick things off.
yeah i think Licht is probably fatigued and is 'quite quitting' so to speak
But....with a firing you get severance as opposed to "Retiring early" so unfortunately we being the businessman that Jason is, we are going to suffer a bit until he is ultimately let go; maybe they do both Bowles and Licht in January 2027 but the Glazers may not blink.
lol, I think you would say something like "recency bias?"
comes down to price but he was always likely to stay for the same reasons people said he'd get overpaid: he's a 27 yr old two role (blocking and receiving) TE. He's not great, but he does something that neither other TE on the roster does and that is not easy to find.
FWIW he also definitely fits the team first mold
Maybe this means Evans is gone? ;-)
I'd rather just have the 6th round comp pick but whatever. It is what it is...
Maybe he improves magically
Bucs are in the mix for free-agent corner James Pierre, who worked with new special-teams coordinator Danny Smith in Pittsburgh, averaging 200+ snaps on teams over the last six years. Would be a key depth piece/ gunner as they try to improve on teams.
(more important than it seems lol)
No decision yet on Bucs linebacker Lavonte David, but he's choosing between retiring or returning to Tampa and not listening to any outside offers, per his agent, Ron Butler.
Dallas Goedert or David Njoku would have been upgrades.
Kenneth Gainwell signed on a 2-yr deal.
Bucs signing Alex Anzalone to a 2-yr deal.

mid move. $7M a year for this guy? ehh
i mean i guess we needed a White replacement so ok
Dallas Goedert or David Njoku would have been upgrades.
and probably cheaper too
with Otton, it depends what he got, but if it was like 3 years, 30M or more...ehhh...i dont see what they see in the guy

I don't thik Otton is as bad as most here, but I hope to God Licht didn't pay him more than Goedert or Njoku. That would be foolish.
I don't like the Gainwell signing. That's a lot for a backup RB - a position that is easily replaceable.
Anzalone is a solid signing. He's on the wrong side of Father Time, but he's still at least a respectable MLB - something this team hasn't had for a long fuggin' time.
