Because they have elite coaching. Something we have lacked for majority of Mike's careerBasically, Mike said yeah I'm good on playing with Baker Mayfield and his hospital balls that has kept me from my 1K seasons LOL
I'm hurt about this move I'm not even going to lie to you. Letting franchise icons walk out the door is painful. Especially when its a player of his character and been here since we were in the dumps. But we have to be honest here, I can't blame him for wanting to play in an offense that has elite coaching. Baker at QB and the new OC is hardly enough to write home about.
GM Lynch is good at assembling talent on offense and defense. The 49ers despite their injuries just compete and are more physical.
The worst part is the NFCS is improving so far in free agency and the Bucs are just treading water so far. Licht needs to pull off several miracles now.
Nobody wants to say it though. We have to be honest, Mike BARLEY got 1K the year before last year when he played all the games. It took a series of him catching a 6 yard out when the game was already decided to get that streak extended. Mind you the entire year Baker was missing Mike on so many open down field throw it was absurd.Basically, Mike said yeah I'm good on playing with Baker Mayfield and his hospital balls that has kept me from my 1K seasons LOL

yeah definitely not a good look for Baker Mayfield.
as much as we dislike Bowles, this had just as much to do with Baker being ass last year too
Last year was much of the same this time, Mike got injured and it cost him.
True, but you have to also examine that the Bucs have had musical chairs at OC nearly every year for almost a half a decade now (Robinson, Grizzard, Coen, Canales, Lefty). Hard to have stability on offense with a revolving door at OC and a defense that can't get their shit together.
49ers offense runs through Shanahan and there is no deviation from that so ME wants to finish his career with stability and a GM Lynch determined to keep that defense primed to compete. They lose Saleh but they aggressively obtained Morris and Eberflaus. What did the Bucs do with their coaching staff on defense? Marcus West and a cloud of dust. Just so sad.

If his goal is as stated by PR -- targets and yards - he picked a good place. He will have one kore contract with us and go into the HOF as the greatest offensive player for the Bucs.
And the Bucs got cap space, so what do they do with it?
ok, it wasn‘t money …but what was it then? he is not going to win anything with niners. I‘m shocked!
my feeling is he only wanted to leave

The joke of a head coach and the direction this franchise is headed.
Per multiple reports, Evans has agreed to a three-year contract worth up to $60.4 million.
There are multiple contenders they are likely evaluating. Bills? Patriots? Broncos? Jaguars? 49ers?
I personally believe he will leave, and for one of these five four teams.
Well, there's the answer in terms of where he's going. Good for SF, they're getting a great player. As for the Bucs, this is a terrible smear on the owners and Bowles. I had a feeling that when M1k3 left the field after the Falcons game yelling 3rd and 28, it was over for him. Fed up playing for this loser HC. Fed up with owners who've settled for mediocrity. Fed up playing for a .500 team the past four seasons. Not surprised at all he's left the building.

yepp. can‘t be anything else
sad day but noone is going to take it amiss! thanks for everything mike!
I think a lot of people saw it coming. Bowles blew a big opportunity last year and Evans don't want to go through that disaster again.
Bullet dodged.
The 49ers will regret their decision. Evans will not be able to stay healthy. He'll have two great games, or four or six. But then he'll come up with a hamstring injury and he'll be fighting to get back on the field. In the end he'll play half the season. That's not enough for $20 mil per year. The Bucs are lucky other teams were salivating over Evans and took them off the hook for paying big money for a guy who is trying to hang in there for a couple more years.
It’s actually a shame that we don’t play San Fran this season.
Would’ve been fun to watch Mike torch Todd’s ass for 165 and 2 TD’s.
Good job, Glazers!
Perhaps he would have.... if it was one of the 8 or 9 healthy games. It’s actually a shame that we don’t play San Fran this season.
