So far he's succesful with the 49ers, more successful than he would have been here OBVIOUSLY. And the Bucs really miss him, although not sure how much given the poor state of the team (meaning even with him they probably suck and he probably hates it).Â
So far with the 49ers he is basically 2025 Evans (even with a better QB and offense and far less competition for catches). Shorter receptions (10.9 ADoT) than 2025 and low YAC (1.5), but a critical safety valve who made most of the 1st downs in Game 1, for example.
He's also been injured. He was injured in camp. He left game two in the 4th quarter. He left the most recent game near half time. All different injuries. His snaps count is currently the lowest of his career and that is on a team desperate for WRs. For the Bucs he went out with a pulled hamstring in game 3. He's "day to day" with a strained rib muscle for the 49ers.
Definitely a good move for him, but he needs to stay healthy to make his 1,000 reception goal.
He's exactly what they need and he was right to leave this shitty team.

The 49ers don't care about injuries as they have depth and coaching.
