Evans stat prediction:
13 games played (leaving 2 early)
890 yards (he will break 100 if he plays 15+ games)
9 TDs (more if he plays more)
That's probably a good guess. So much dependent on his health
The thing with Evans is that he can produce even in run oriented offenses or if he is asked to play a lot inside. I just think people have a hard time realizing that Mike Evans being schemed open in the 49ers offense makes his life easier versus running crisp routes alone.

i would think everyone gets that. its one big reason he'd want to go there

Talent pool alone, Mike Evans is going to get more opportunities in Shanahan's offense than in Tampa's. No one is going to confuse Pearsall for Godwin, no one is going to confuse Emeka for Christian Kirk, no one is going to confuse McMillan for Demarcus Robinson. The Niners needed Evans. If healthy, he will have more than 1000 yards.

this is the big "if"
Last season. his collarbone/concussion play against the Lions is partly because the CB in on top of him. Years past Evans is two strides ahead
this is the big "if"
Agreed. It’s why even though there’s a story out there to the contrary, we were never going to resign him.
It was time for us to move on from Evans and let some of these young pups take the reins.

well it's interesting take, what do you make of the supposed offer we made to him of more money than the 49ers then? And you would think Evans would have had a different storyline in terms of leaving Tampa if he weren't trying to keep him. Like the story we all think is that he chose to left (which appears to be the truth), i'd imagine if Bucs didnt try to re-sign him, Evans would have given "it's a business speal" and still looked like a hero in Tampa - ala John Lynch, Warren Sapp routes.
Certainly drafting a WR in round 1 raised my eyebrows that it was likely Evans last year in Tampa. Couple it with the fact that it was his worse year as Buc and the stars were aligning for an exit.
The drafting of Egbuka to me looked like a hedge regarding the uncertainty with Godwin more so with Evans's last year with the Bcus. Egbuka is closer to Godwin in every way that he plays the game. That is why the Bucs were still willing to bring back Evans despite Egbuka, Godwin and McMillan on the roster.

yes or just "we will need some receivers" and he is a good receiver

I think he left because he wanted to leave and because the Bucs offered him more but not so much that he would stay.
If you take the emotion out (tough to do) sort of a win-win.
The Bucs let LVD play on, maybe a year or two too long, so they were not going to kick Evans to the curb. No way, no how.
I think Evans had a good year this year (absent injury), better than he would've had here.
Evans will kill it in San Fran. His talent wasn’t the issue, it was what makes sense for Tampa right now. Tampa still has a top 5 receiving room without Evans.

Your clown shoes are pretty.

Absolutely chaps your labia that Evans bailed on your boy Todd, doesn't it.
Lithonia must be rougher than normal this time of year.
Perhaps you should travel a bit more?
