This goes back to the point I'm trying to make. There are a couple tradeable guys - Godwin, Mauch and Diaby. Even if you did trade them you aren't going to get a lot for an aging WR, an OG who hasn't proved to be the same player he was pre-injury and an underperforming DE who's contract is running out. The rest of the core players are virtually untradeable due to contracts.  So like them or not we are stuck with them and we need to do what's best for those core players because we have them for a couple more years at least. ÂTrade WinfieldÂ
Trade Vea
Trade Godwin
Have you seen the dead cap numbers on this?
These players are supposed to be in their prime, star players. Wirfs, Winfield, Mayfield, Vea and so on are supposed to be kicking ass right now. We can't give up on them. We have to make a change for their sake. If you don't make a change, then they'll rightfully feel like they've been abandoned by the organization, that winning isn't a priority anymore. Â
It's not that I'm in love with the players. But in the words of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young "Love the one you're with." We have to ride or die with these players. Dumping the season to get one high draft pick at the expense of fostering a defeatist attitude amongst the rest of the team is not a strategy that's going to end well. Â

Actually a Stephen Stills song (from his solo album), but great reference and I would expect your point to be about right. I doubt the Bucs go through some big trade fire sale.Â

Speaking of defeatist attitudes, how well did that work out last season for our SB capable winning HC?
Great point! Also, the sky is blue in case anyone was wondering about that!ÂDumping the season to get one high draft pick at the expense of fostering a defeatist attitude amongst the rest of the team is not a strategy that's going to end well. Â
