If we do that we would probably be drafting someone in the 4th round or earlier.
Which would be a fucking horrible waste of draft capital.
Why? It's a position of need. To be clear, I think I would rather bring in a FA. Bucky can lead (although he averaged less than 3.8 a carry upon his return from injury) with the FA bringing in that #2 punch. White would be ideal but he's out and there will be plenty of interest from the market.
Its not a dire need.
Not with the gaping holes we have at LG, ILB (x 2), EDGE, IDL, etc.
Tucker and Bucky are a solid as hell duo. If we get Tyler, then great. Can grab depth in FA on the cheap.
Absolutely NO REASON to address this in the draft before the 6th round or later.
It is the coaches -- every single one of them lol - who have been commenting about his dancing behind the line.
And, every single one of them commented that he improved in that aspect as last season played out.
And, that the trend has continued throughout this camp.
Correct. Which is why is was hilarious to see the football savant suggest White may be moving down the depth chart, even after seeing White in street clothes for the first two preseason games. Most people understood exactly what that meant. And then there's the football savant.
lol
Biggs walked off into the sunset with that post about Canales hiring Bevell, so we may be deprived of this kind of football "insight" going forward
Sincerely, the "football savant" who only questioned if White might slide down the depth chart lmao
Here's a wild idea, let Tucker play.
He will be on OC#3? And the Tweedles' "RB1" will probably not be running "again and again and again" for the Bucs, so here's Tucker's chance (again). Hope he takes advantage!
I don't care about how good Tucker is perceived by others, because as depth he is better than what most teams have. Between Bucky, Tucker, Wright and Williams the Bucs have four guys they can run the ball with and three of them are under contract for 2026. Tucker as a RFA is very easy to reup if the Bucs want him so that makes it four.
If the Bucs are dumb enough to spend cap space and draft capital in the RB room for the 2026 off season then it jus proves Robinson is a dumb hire to begin with. Especially if the Bucs entertain the though of throwing money toward Allgeier.
Bucs need to use cap space and draft picks to upgrade guard to open running lanes and to prevent Mayfield's face being smashed in. And to upgrade ILB and OLB. Anything else is a straight up failure.
I doubt the Bucs draft a RTB let alone with a premium pick, precisely because they have so many other needs. BUT, we did take Egbuka.
I guess Licht doesnt think much of Tucker?
Jason Licht: Yeah! You want a good running game. You just can’t rely on one player. We definitely, that will be a position; we will have running backs on the roster, I promise you. So, we are not going into the season with one or two running backs or even three running backs [going] into training camp. We actually like some of the guys on our practice squad. but yeah, we will be looking for running backs.”

bucky sure didn’t look the same last year either.
the eagles lions and us all had the same issue.
The o line took a major step back.
if we don’t draft a rb(and we could anyway) most assume Tyler Allgeier will follow his oc here. I’d be board.
Teams look at RBs every year. That is the nature of the position because of the longevity of the position is so short. Bottomline is between Bucky, Tucker, Wright and Williams the Bucs don't really need to "upgrade" RB.
I mean "upgrading" RB isn't going to improve the interior run blocking or having a TE that can actually threaten a seem. And the Bucs need 2X ILB and 2x OLB and that is not taking into consideration the Bucs need depth at DB and interior DL too.

Yes an injury from a hip drop tackle will do that... Hopefully our play calling will be better this year and Bucky stays healthy.
Tampa is drafting a RB or they are getting one in FA.
Bucky was never drafted to be a bell cow. Tucker ain’t the guy

Correct
. And the Bucs need 2X ILB and 2x OLB
I did a mock the other day where I drafted four linebackers, no b/s.

Sounds like a 2025 Super Bowl contender!!
As you said RB is sort of constant thing. Lichts comments probably only reflect that reality, so "upgrade" can mean many things, depth, talent etc. He also said that White and Tucker might be back.
