So the Bucs haven't really upgraded the RB room all that much.
You clearly haven’t watched Gainwell much. He’s an upgrade. 4.7 yards a carry behind an inferior line, is an upgrade.
I did not watch the Steelers much last year. Was there offensive scheme as bad as ours?
I think about the same. Just a point or two less in PPG. Described as boring, no big plays, short passing etc.
I think Gainwell ran for a better average than the Steelers RB1 (Waylen) and for sure caught more passes, but I think the reason he was voted MVP was his all around ability and his demeanor
""It's not a vote that any of us take lightly," said linebacker T.J. Watt, a five-time team MVP. "It's a huge honor. Kenny G, he's made so many plays in the run and pass.
"Great teammate as well. He works hard. Can't say enough great things about him as a player and as a teammate. So, I'm just excited for him."
"Kenny's been unbelievable in the passing game, just unbelievable," said quarterback Aaron Rodgers. "And he's so dang smart.
"You just love playing with that guy."
I liked White. He was also reportedly a good teammate, but I think Gainwell should be an upgrade.
The thing that makes it a tougher that straight comparison though is that Gainwell has just come on in the last year or two.So, when someone like Alldaway compared him to White by career rushing yards that is a little tough because White was the feature back in 2023, Gainwell just a back up etc.

My biggest issue with White was his vision. There were times he just ran right into the defense. I don't know if Gainwell will be an upgrade, but I do not see him being a downgrade.
To clarify my position, I think Gainwell is a good back. I just think the blocking aspect White really exceled at and there were times when he kept Baker clean. I hope we haven't lost that. It is my hope with Gainwell that you get all of his positives and a surprise in the blocking game. I don't recall Tucker being that bad, but Bucky is absolutely no good at it.

agreed on White.
Not that Baldinger is some great player evaluator, but on his breakdown I posted here Baldinger highlights "vision" as one of Gainwell's strengths. I think you can see it in the highlights Baldinger chose, especially as compared to White.
I am hopeful that he is an upgrade.
I think I only saw a small sample size......which could have been all the indicator I needed to how good or bad he truly was.I don't recall Tucker being that bad
he was pretty awful in pass pro. if he was even decent he would've bene on a lot more, I would think.
As you say, White was very good at pass pro.
The overarching point (and thanks for getting it even though I might have worded it poorly) was how good White was at it. There are a few backs in the draft that had pretty good blocking results. Jamarion Miller at Alabama and Noah Whittington at Oregon were elite level in college. Adam Randall was the next tier down below elite at Clemson and is a back I absolutely love because of his size and ceiling. Here's to hoping we get the whole package in Gainwell to pair with Bucky and/or Tucker.
White runs like a big back so losing him is a blow to the team and must now rely on Tucker to fill the gap. Gainwell has that second gear that White or Irving do not have but again in the end KG is not going to be on a Steelers team devoid of other targets and the Steelers heavily relied on him.
KG is coming to the Bucs with established players like Irving, Tucker, Otton, McMillan, EE, T. Johnson and of course slot monster that is Godwin.
KG is a nice player to have but a luxury to be honest given his cost. He isn't on the level of a Fournette, Gronk or Brown so to me that stacks the deck against KG to perform with so many players that need to be fed take priority over him.
so many players that need to be fed take priority over him.
This isn't true. Priority in the offense is based on scheme. While I do think Bucky is the better all around back, it's not by much. Robinson will use both of them plenty and Tucker will have some goal line ops.
Resigning Kieft is as big a thing as has happened in the off-season. Coen turned his use of Kieft into a head coaching position. It's a shame Grizz didn't have him for much of the season at all last year.
Tucker can’t just get scraps and goal line. Robinson has to find a way to get all 3 involved.
White could definitely put in the big back play or two and was a good team guy but didn't Tucker take the short yardage mostly away from him last season?
Internal Gianwell info
For sure,” Anzalone said. “In my past I was tasked with probably the most challenging coverage situations, as far as the linebacker corps goes – usually that’s the tight end most of the time.
“When we played the Steelers last year it was him. And I was like, ‘Really, I’m covering the linebacker this week?’ Yeah, former receiver. The guy runs a ton of routes, and they needed me on him. I have a ton of respect for him. Even when he was in Philly, he’s a great player and a great addition.”

If Robinson is dumb enough to feed KG over Godwin, McMillan, EE, Otton and Irivin he can kick rocks.
There is a reason why Robinson aka the loser reject from hot lanta was cheered on his exist from the Falcons fandom.

This may be the least informed take in Red Board history.
Robinson can coach. Atlanta suffered from the Raheem effect. Which is to say, Raheem coaches like there’s an end to the riddle. There isn’t in football and the best head coaches evolve to continuously solve the equation.
Robinson is what cost Raheem his job because Robinson couldn't figure out how to use the players he had to work with for half a season. The Falcons finished with 3703 rushing yards while the Bucs finished with 3755 yards. You can take way Baker's rushing yards and it still looks ugly for the Falcons rushing attack with Bijan and Allgeier.

I'm quite certain they didn't have 3700 yards rushing
