Jalon is not the first rookie UDFA to start in the NFL.  Of the UDFA rookie starters post-2000, only one had a losing record!

UDFA Quarterback Rookie Starting Records
Tyson Bagent (2–2 record): Stepping in for an injured Justin Fields in 2023, Bagent went exactly .500 over his 4 rookie starts. He led the Chicago Bears to victories against the Las Vegas Raiders and Carolina Panthers.
Brady Cook (0–4 record): After being elevated from the practice squad due to major injuries to Tyrod Taylor and Justin Fields in 2025, Cook struggled to find the win column. He went winless in his 4 rookie starts for the New York Jets.
Tommy DeVito (3–3 record): After Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor went down in 2023, "Tommy Cutlets" took over the New York Giants. He rallied the team to an even .500 record across his 6 rookie starts, highlighted by a three-game winning streak.
Devlin "Duck" Hodges (3–3 record): Replacing Ben Roethlisberger for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019, Hodges managed to split his 6 rookie starts down the middle before hitting a wall late in the season.
Kyle Allen (1–0 record): Allen signed with the Carolina Panthers in 2018 and didn't play until the very final week of the season. He won his lone rookie start, defeating the New Orleans Saints.

Jalon Daniels (0–0 record): As a rookie this season, Daniels is completely blank on the stat sheet. This weekend’s game against Green Bay will be his first official decision. [1, 2, 3, 4]
