Horror story for October, at the end of the season the glazers keep bowles! 😮
We would have to storm Licht's office and demand a recount
I think they call that the democratic process.
lol that was good
I think you misread democratic for Democrats lmfao
But either either way I think we just let AI run the team.
What does grok say?
If you were head coach of the buccaneers what would you do to turn their season around?
Simplify the offense around the run and short/intermediate passing with rookie QB Jalon Daniels while Mayfield is out (at least 3 weeks with a dislocated thumb), clean up the penalties and protection issues that have plagued them, lean on the defense’s strengths (especially run defense), and treat the next few weeks as must-win opportunities in a weak NFC South.
The Buccaneers are 0-3 and last in the NFC South (where the other three teams are all 1-2). They’ve been outscored 79-62, rank near the bottom in total offense (~279 yards/game, 27th), passing, and yards per play, while the defense has been solid against the run and overall yards (around 6th) but is giving up too many points (26.3/game). They’re also dealing with a late-2025 collapse carryover, multiple injuries (including Jalen McMillan on IR), the loss of Mike Evans’ presence as a big-play threat, and execution problems like sacks allowed (13 in 3 games), turnovers, and penalties that wipe out big gains.
Here’s what I’d prioritize as head coach (Todd Bowles’ seat is already warm):
1. Offense: Protect Daniels, run the ball, and play smart/complementary football
- Lean heavily on Bucky Irving and the run game. Irving has been productive when available; establish him early and often to control the clock, keep the defense fresh, and ease pressure on the rookie QB. Mix in Kenny Gainwell/Sean Tucker for freshness. They’re only at ~94 rush yards/game—that needs to climb.
- Scheme for Daniels’ strengths. He’s a dual-threat undrafted rookie from Kansas who impressed in the preseason (mobility + enough arm to make plays). Use designed rollouts, RPO elements, play-action off the run, and quicker throws to Emeka Egbuka, Chris Godwin (when healthy), Cade Otton, and Ted Hurst. Avoid forcing deep shots into coverage that lead to sacks or picks. Keep the offense simple, high-percentage, and focused on ball security and third-down conversion (currently poor at ~32%).
- Fix the offensive line and penalties immediately. Tristan Wirfs and the group have to clean up holds and protection breakdowns that have erased big plays (including what would have been long TDs). More max-protect looks, tighter play-calling discipline, and accountability in practice. Zac Robinson’s new scheme needs quicker adjustments.
- Get Godwin more involved. He’s been under-targeted so far; use him as a reliable security blanket in the short/intermediate areas.
Goal: Don’t ask Daniels to win games single-handedly. Aim for 20–24 points via efficiency, field position, and taking what the defense gives.
2. Defense: Play to strengths and generate more pressure/turnovers
The unit is better against the run than the pass and has held opponents in check on yards at times, but points allowed and missed opportunities are killing them. Stick with Bowles’ aggressive style but emphasize:
- Stopping the run first (they’re already strong here).
- Getting more consistent pressure with Vita Vea, Calijah Kancey, Yaya Diaby (when healthy), and the edge group so the secondary isn’t on an island.
- Creating turnovers and limiting big plays/explosive passes. Better tackling and fewer mental errors.
- Special teams accountability after issues like the long punt return TD allowed.
3. Mindset, culture, and short-term plan
- Urgency without panic. The division is wide open—everyone is mediocre—so a strong stretch of wins can put them back in contention quickly. Emphasize fundamentals, accountability for penalties/turnovers, and “next man up.” Publicly support Daniels while privately simplifying everything for him.
- Short-term schedule focus: Home vs. Packers (1-2) this week is a critical must-win. Then a tough short-week trip to Dallas, home vs. Steelers, and at Carolina. Stack wins against the winnable ones while Mayfield heals.
- Injury management and depth: Get healthy bodies back (Godwin progressing, others limited). Evaluate if any roster moves or practice-squad elevations help the lines or skill positions in the short term.
- Longer view if it stays ugly: If they dig a deeper hole (e.g., 0-5/0-6), start evaluating bigger schematic or personnel tweaks for the second half, but right now the priority is stabilizing and winning games in a soft division.
Perfect now send it to Bowles. This is probably better than anything him and Robinson are thinking

Wait. Does that mean we’re going to burn OBP to the ground and start looting and rioting?

Kind of a fascinating look at AI because its presenting the truisms but not the actual fixes and the challenge in the real world is not to identify what the Bucs should do its making those things actually happen.
For example, everyone would agree with the need to "clean up the penalties and protections issues" but what is the answer to "how?" The Bucs arent line dancing they are competing against 11 other guys opposite them and so the "penalties" and 'protection issues" are at least partially from guys getting their asses kicked by opponents. Some of that is definitely scheme and down/distance so at least partially in the coaches influence BUT those "penalties and protection issues" are probably not going away until Bucs players start beating opponents across from them. I think earlier this week Donovan Smith was out saying that part of the fix for the line is for "guys to start taking it personal." He's right, but have some of them all ready packed it in after last season's end and this season beginning, now Mayfield out . . .
Maybe our new QB creates a spark
