. Running back a team that basically quit didn't make sense.

I dont think they saw it as a team that quit or they thought they could turn it around

now way they thought he offense would go backwards, line would regress

and if the team turned it around EARLY they are competitve again.  they just didnt

Licht has created a situation where he can not view many players outside of OBP as upgrades but there are plenty of upgrades out there for this roster even right now.

or they were operating under a budget and with the realization that there may be a transition coming

i wonder at what point were they like "oh fuck"

im sure the Bengals game, they were like...ok Baker can fix those fumbles.  that was a fluke

but then the dud against the Browns.....in Bakers revenge game.....that was the "oh fuck" moment for me this year at least (Miami last year was ultimately the.....we are toast for the rest of time oh fuck moment")

probably spot on, but even then the Browns are now understood to be better than expected. Hard to say.  Agree with you on Miami too.

Early NFL games are always tough because peoples expectations are mostly based on a past year and NFL teams change all the time.  Same thing wiht the way people look at their won team.  Tons of hope and enthusiasm.  Most here have them a Division winner again. So, that is why the early games can be explosive and set up a continuation of the collapse or turn things around a little.

Well this is a front office that through Teddy Bridgewater was a serviceable backup with no third string option.

I'm not sure I can really trust any of their roster assessments
