With Bruce Arians at the helm, Tom Brady now under center and a young roster that appears to be on the rise – not to mention the lack of a state income tax in Florida – the Bucs could quickly become a highly sought-after destination for NFL stars.

Wide receiver Julian Edelman recently “liked” a tweet from Deion Sanders that made some wonder if the veteran receiver could be interested in heading to Tampa Bay, potentially reuniting with Brady, his long-time quarterback in New England.

The friendship between Brady and Edelman is well-known, along with the receiver’s Super Bowl MVP award, 7,949 total receiving yards, 41 total receiving touchdowns and three Super Bowl victories throughout his 10-year career on the Patriots with Brady. Edelman also wished Brady farewell in a pair of Instagram posts, to which Brady replied, “Love ya Jules.”

Edelman remains under contract with the Patriots through the 2021 season.

He is still under contract through 2021 so unless New England is in rebuild mode, it is doubtful he would come at a reasonable price.

It should be enough to swap O.J. or even Brate and a 4th. They need a TE. Even though I’d like to see O.J. rebound this year.

Please Pewter Report, don’t turn into a click bait , rumor based could they – will they website. Edelman simply liked a post by a fellow athlete that mentioned him. It means nothing. I love most everything of what you guys do, but don’t do this,
please! 🙏

There will be excellent receivers available deep into this draft. We’ve got our slot receiver already. We need a #3 wideout on a nice rookie contract.

Look would it be nice to get Edelman, of course! But realistically we don’t need him unless it’s free. I don’t think you people realize exactly what we have at WR. To me Chris Godwin is one of the 3-5 best WR’s in the league. He’s Antonio Brown in the making(AB without the baggage) one of best route runners I’ve ever seen. Only WR’s in the league I’d take over Godwin are Thomas, JJ, and Beckham. And as far as Evans, he’s the perfect blend of size, speed, and hands. We have the best WR duo in the league, who… Read more »

Pat’s have 14 picks next month. They’d probably be happy to give up 2 for an experienced TE, or 1 plus Edelman. We have 4 signed, and letting Brate go would free up the most money. I like the idea.

YES!!!!! Here comes Julian Edelman and Antonio Brown!!

Who will the Bucs trade? Chris Godwin and Mike Evans for four #1 picks over 2 years?

It’s what Tom Brady needs to be successful! Give him his preferred weapons! Also, get rid of OJ for a 2nd. Tight ends are going for a premium price right now.

@dave Best WR duo in the league? Lol. That’s when WINSTON is risking it to get them the biscuit. With Brady, those cats will be middle of the road like Hogan, Gordon, Sanu, Dorsett, etc. Fun fact: Randy Moss never lead the Patriots in receptions, it was always Wes Welker. Some years, Welker almost DOUBLED Moss’s production. Pay attention. This isn’t a Madden video game. The soon-to-be 43 year old QB is an old dog. He can’t/won’t learn new tricks. He will dump it to the shallow crossers. Best to bring in all his toys. Enjoy your new ticket prices… Read more »

When we won the super bowl it was Johnson, keeshawn, mccardell, jerevivious, dilger, Dudley, pitman and alstott.

Brady, Evans. Godwin, perriman, brate, OJ, Jones.

Not bad. Add a piece or 2 and you got it

cant add players bc over paid for brady. hey i cant wait to see brady in pewter but believe further players arriving is going to be like corona, all quarantined! no mo money! draft or trade, thats it folks. dont ask for another piece bc put all ducks in for brady. pray its enough, dont ask for more, its all talk. just enjoy your QB, and two olbs!! maybe gurley joins cheap bc getting paid for 1 yr run with goat?! doubtful, but back to praying folks!!!

Borkdog-who did you want us to sign? We didn’t overpay for Brady at all. Was the greatest QB of all time $10M more than Bridgewater? Absolutely. $5M more than Brees? Okay. But he’ll end up being the 9th/10th highest paid QB this year which is NOT overpaying for the GOAT. The only way I can see your Debbie Downer argument having any validity is if you wanted us to draft a rookie QB to start. We’ll sign two/three proven vets on the cheap because they want to play with Brady than if we’d have had the extra $10M to spend… Read more »

They’re The best WR duo with Winston at QB but not Brady? You’re not really trying to suggest that Evans and Godwin are a product of Winston are you? Godwin is a complete stud and QB proof. And Evans is not far behind him. Brady, when he has the appropriate weapons puts up the numbers. Godwin is the best route runner Brady’s ever had to throw to. The Brady to Godwin connection is going to be a thing of beauty. He’s not a deep threat. He can play inside or outside. He can perfect slants, crosses, 15 yard ins, slant… Read more »

And the “we have no money because we paid 30 MIL for Brady” stuff is getting so ridiculously stupid. First off we have plenty of money left to spend. And Secondly, if we decided JW was our franchise QB and kept him, it would have cost us the same amount. It would have been for 25-30 MIL per. Any elite or top 10 QB costs 30 MIL per. That’s the going rate. Or do people not follow football. What do expect us to do at QB? We’re not getting the future of the franchise in the draft at 14, and… Read more »

@dave you’ll have to excuse borkdog, he’s just trying to take over BAB sad attitude on the daily. $30 million for a top ten QB is not over paying so get over it. And people are confused because with the extra $10 million on the cap, the Bucs are sitting at $27 million left. Do some damn research people. And you usually save about $8 million for the draft picks so there’s a few more dollars to sign Sue and depth for this team. There’s no sense arguing with fans who don’t think Brady is worth it, because they have no sense. The the Bucs replaced Jameis’s face on the side of the building, with Brady’s. Ticket sales, jersey sales, will go through the roof. National spotlight, all the perks. Overnight we’ve become a media darling, and if some fans want to cry about all that, let them. It’s like arguing with a blind guy about how lovey the sun rise looks. This is the best thing that’s happened for the Bucs since our SB. With Tom we have a chance for one again.… Read more »

Leave him in N.E. banged up, ped use,& old. We need o line help, Ali is our only stud on the o line, a cover safety, another corner or 2, & couple rbs. This roster b4 Brady was nice on paper, however on the field we were just below avg. JW was not the only problem. Our foundation was & is not solid, football is still a big man’s game. Also they should bring Suh back. Any suh news? Right now the Saints are still the best team in NFC south, to me if we don’t win the division what… Read more »

Receiver is not a need on the Bucs.

What is a need in free agency today is a replacement for Dotson, a better running back (Todd Gurley is now a free agent!), keep Suh, and better defensive backs (yes, we’ve drafted a ton of them in the last several years, but they’re still not top shelf).

Not going to get into this Edleman thing, just stupid.

But one Brady benefit we haven’t touched on yet is the impact on officiating. I am so tired of the Bucs getting short changed by the refs year after year. Will the spotlight and attention Brady brings guide the invisible hand of the NFL officiating during Bucs games so that we only have to beat our opponents? That would be a nice change of pace.

I don’t think the NFL world realizes that Chris Godwin is our slot receiver, BP may not have shined earlier but his speed still allowed ME and CG to shine, clearing areas out

I’m a Bucs fan and I can appreciate the Bucs owners trying to ensure they sell tickets. Not enough rabid fans at home games has been a huge problem to me. Tom Brady sells tickets. I totally get it. He’s an icon for crying out loud! I just remember Jordan to the Wizards, or Favre to the NY Jets. It doesn’t always work out in the end and sometimes it sets the franchise back in a big way.

Completely agree and am hoping we’re the exception since Brady is so competitive and driven. I’m a little older and remember Namath to the Rams, Unitas to the Chargers, Stabler to the Saints. All great HOF’ers.

We don’t need him! Develop what we have as TB12 will be gone in two years, so with that being said let’s not throw everything into what he wants. It still needs to be what’s best for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the future. Tom Brady is a bridge quarterback that just happens to be a G.O.A.T., so lets resign Jameis Winston to a 3 to 4 year deal worth $15 to $20M with an option in year three. This way Jameis gets to learn from the G.O.A.T. and see how to prepare day in day out, film study and… Read more »

So you chose to remember all the times it didn’t work. But also chose to forget the times it did work. Montana got traded to the Chiefs and immediately got Marty Shottenheimer(who was the definition of playoff choke artist) to the AFC championship game. You bring up Favre to the Jets but failed to mention Favre taking the Vikings to 12-4 and the NFC championship game at age 40. Or how about Manning going to Denver, when nobody thought he’d ever be the same after 2 neck surgeries, and shattering every single NFL record in the process of taking the… Read more »

@sombrero I respect your points and they are valid to an extent. But it’s worked the other way as well. And why do people keep bringing up Jordan to the Wizards? The dude still averaged over 20 points a game with and average of 5 rebounds and 5 assists. That’s all stat numbers for some players. I’m just happy that this franchise will finally get recognition, be on tv more, and like another poster mentioned, get more calls from the damn refs that seem to screw those team over every week.

Have no problem with it if he is released by NE who is in a rebuilding mode. Would just make Evans, Godwin and company more effective. After all he is going into his 11th year. Would be worth a 6th round pick or possibly a earlier 2021 pick.

not worth what some are suggesting.

I think Bucs are in a win now mindset. Bucs have a 2 maybe 3 year window with Arians and Brady. I say load the cannons and take our best shot with Edelman. I see that’s an unpopular opinion but I still think it happens. We’ll see.

Go Bucs!

If you were Edelman, at age 33 with 3 SB rings, would you prefer to stay in NE this season or join your your buddy for a new adventure? This comes down to how much Belichick wants in return.
