Mb Nfl Double Your First Deposit Football Team Vs Bucs Pewter 728x90 Jpg

On Tuesday’s airing of “The Herd” Fox Sports analyst Colin Cowherd cited a non-football source that claims Tom Brady is going to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“I had someone text me this morning, and this is very interesting, because it’s not a football source,” Cowherd said. “It’s an icon source. It is someone in Tom’s stratosphere that knows Tom, a famous person. And he says ‘Tampa’. That’s what he’s telling me.”

This may be news to the Bucs however, as GM Jason Licht quickly clarified where the team is at shortly after Cowherd’s report dropped.

Cowherd is far from the only media figure to suggest Brady to the Bucs is a strong possibility. NFL Network’s Mike Silver said today that “If I were a betting man, I would strongly bet on the Buccaneers” as the final landing spot for Brady.

Is there fire to come from all this smoke? One thing is clear, if Brady snubs the Bucs, they will be left with very few options to start at quarterback in 2020. Teddy Bridgewater appears to be heading to Carolina, Marcus Mariota to the Raiders, Ryan Tannehill is going back to Tennessee and Philip Rivers is reportedly close to a deal with Indianapolis.

Who knows how Jameis Winston will feel about a return to Tampa after being, at best, Plan B for Licht and Bruce Arians. In the meantime, Cam Newton could be a trade candidate in Carolina, but with the current travel situation across the country, it would be tough to confirm his medical situation.

As Licht said, Brady Watch is on in the Bucs front office just as much as it is for those of us in the media. The former Patriots’ legend holds all the cards, now we must wait to see if Cowherd and Silver are right about him choosing Tampa in the end.

BA came to Tampa to win a Super Bowl. This is the guy he wants. This team has the talent NOW to compete for a Super Bowl (if they can improve running game). Oakland is at least two years away as is San Diego and they both play in the AFC West, which features KC. Tampa is the logical choice. It is not a question of money. As a fan, you have to like this move.

This must really piss off Colin Cowherd. He hates Smaller Market Teams in general and the Bucs in particular. Good. I can’t stand that guy.

You can also factor in the rumors of Teddy Bridgewater will be signing with the Panthers and Phillip Rivers signing with the Colts as more smoke and where there’s smoke…

If he comes, isn’t he immediately going to make everybody better. I remember watching him in practices. His 7 on 7 drills before the games are intense. He demands a lot from his route runners.

Licht isn’t going to announce anything until the Bucs make it official. I do not believe for one instant that there has been no discussion with Brady or his agent on this. That is counter to everything that make sense and has been reported elsewhere.

I hope if he comes here the rumors of him making the personnel decisions is true, tired of Licht bungling his way through Free Agency and the Draft.

Spoken like a true loser Dustin. Winston never led us to the playoffs and only posted one winning season out of five if you want to consider nine and seven a winning season…..I consider it mediocrity. Winston has all the physical tools but the guy just doesn’t make good reads at the line of scrimmage. Considering all the film he has watched and coaching he has had, I don’t see that trait ever changing. He is all the quarterback he is ever going to be. As Popeye the Sailor Man would say…..I can’t takes no more!

If Brady comes here I will be surprised, pleasantly surprised this team will instantly improve and do not forget AB is offering the deal to any team that signs Brady. Think about AB one side Evans other side and Howard the tight end, Remember Brady loves the tight end. You could see numbers that better anything Jameis put up without the INTS. 5000 yard 39TDs 7 ints. The O line will get better they are promising that to Tom and they have the cap to do it. The play calling goes to Tom and the Leftwich problem solved. I was… Read more »

I agree with nearly every part, but Antonio Brown?! Are you kidding?
We have Godwin. Yes, he is not as good as AB but AB kills your whole team only because someone has not greeted him. The Bucs don’t need him!

If the Brady deal falls through, it could be very good money wise for the Bucs as Bridgewater is reportedly only getting $20M/year avg from Carolina. He’s drawing more interest than Winston so if we do end up with Winston it should be at a very reasonable rate.

Honestly, yes he’s 42, yes he’s not the same guy he was 10 years ago, but Ariana is a great coach and if Brady does come here he is still a great QB who has done a lot with very little at many different times. If Winston is in fact out then why not? Who else is gonna be better? AND it will make Leftwich have to plan some safer short yardage plays instead of just absolutely having to push it downfield no matter what no matter how risky. If Brady comes here we will be drafting a Day 2… Read more »

I’m sure all the analysts have analyzed the crap out of this decision, but here’s my analytical analysis fully analyzed: Brady has been a winner his entire carrer. 6 Super Bowls, 10 straight AFC East championships, numerous Pro Bowls and something like 3 league MVP awards. He has gobs of money and nothing left to prove. So why is he still playing? Because he loves winning and he got sick of Belichick. Which leads me to believe that he’s not a FA because of the money, and that he still has an undying need to win football games. To win… Read more »

Almost all of the starting QB chairs are taken and, right now, Bucs could offer a mimimum contract to Winston. His only chance at starter money…And, Jameis would be smart to take it. Licht could pull a “Rounders” move and lock him in. The Bucs franchise is standing at the crossroads right at this very moment in it’s history. St. Paddy’s Day 2020. This move will make or break this team for next year.

I have always been hard on Bruce Arians because he keeps Winston, I doubted his smarts because of that, was told by someone in the know he promised to give Winston a shot for 1 year, and he did and now he made choice to change QB and is planning on a Superbowl with Tom.
If Tom comes tomorrow make no mistake only Bruce Arians in control could make that happen.

I will be sad to see Winston not be able to workout here but if that’s what the team feels is best then that must be what’s best. I won’t lose any sleep over it unless Brady comes here and gets hurt and Winston goes to the Bears or somewhere and wins a Super Bowl.

I just hope whatever happens is what’s best for the team and we continue climbing upwards next year!

I admit that I like the idea of Brady over Carr, Dalton, and Rivers. I hope he finds the fountain of youth and is able to play well.

I remain skeptical, but only because the team around Winston was never very good and he shouldered the load for 5 years. Tom Brady will also have SAVIOR expectations by fans, media, players, coaches, and owners.

I’ve got my popcorn ready.

We need a better back up QB. I think Brady is headed to L.A. he as planned this for a few years. Since the Kobe Tragedy. They need a hero. Brady has a mamba mentality. Imagine how much his brand will grow if wins it all in Hollywood. Tampa vs L.A. I would be very surprised. we have a slim chance at goat, i applaud them for taking a shot. Even if means rebuilding with a young QB out of this years draft.

The first time – in the first game – when Donovan Smith decides to take a play off and let some DE have a free shot at Brady like he used to let happen to Winston, Brady is going to cut Smith’s nuts off on the field…better be drafting a new LT.

You have a 43YO QB, on the decline physically, with a suspect line and virtually no mobility. A system that requires a big arm (that he doesn’t have anymore) with deep drop routes. Not to mention a system that would be totally new to him. So, you’re gonna tell me this guy is gonna lead this team to the Superbowl? Well, only if the backup can get us there, because he won’t last five games, PERIOD.
