  1. At 6,2″ 247 lb this linebacker is faster than half of the top 10 running back at the combine
He is stronger than most lineman jumps higher than the receivers, NCAA record 110 tackles in only 11 games.6.5 sacks he can get to the QB
At #5 he is a steel he could have gone at 3.
    Sure thing best bet.
Only negatives is he wants record money and will get it, use his athleticism to dominate at expense of technical sound play can overshoot a tackle , but any good defence coach will correct that please reserve a yellow jacket for Aaron Curry now that he is #4 pick 2009 draft by Seattle.

  3. It’s interesting that White isn’t getting a much different grade than SMB. I’m not sure if it’s an insult to White or a real vote of confidence for Bunting by the team of nerds at Madden.

  6. And for the record the Roomie contracts are pretty much spelled out by the collective bargaining agreement. There isn’t the ability to ask and sign for some crazy contract, there are parameters they have to stay within. So Devin White will get a good contract being the number 5 pick but there isn’t much room for him to ask for some ridiculous amount over what is laid out by the CBA. He may get a record deal for a #5 pick since things changed in 2011 but that is because the deals increase according to the Salary Cap each year.

  7. I’m the seventh comment…

Where’s the proof reading and where the heck is additional commentary and professional opinions from you guys?

I think you’d get much more engagement if you could provide your options (which we all respect) in the same article.

I’m sorry but this stuff seems lazy and it’s disturbing because of the lack of professional Bucs-Centric media.

There is no doubt that PR is the most legitimate game in town and I rarely ever comment but it’s just frustrating that no one is taking advantage of a gaping need for more information and reporting (even biased if so) on the Bucs.

  8. JPP was seen yesterday in a Aspen Vista Multipost collar. It is designed to be used for SHORT PERIODS of time throughout the day and confirmation that he has improved.
Greg Auman incorrectly tweeted out that he would not be re-evaluated again for 2 months (then fortunately corrected that he made a mistake on that).
However, what a shock! – 10 to 20 other sports sites picked up on the original Greg Auman tweet and are now all reporting that JPP will not be re-evaluated again for two months.
Don’t do the same thing here Mark.

  9. Who gives rats ass what White makes as a rookie. As pointed out the parameters for rookies are set. There is zero chance he isn’t signed or that he won’t be worth it.

  10. The better draft pick Josh Allen signed for 22 Million and is in training facility every day, White who told every body with ears he was going to get big money is holding for 30 Mil, and will get it because Licht would be done if he does not sign 1st pick.

    • He should get it. It the dollar amount slotted for that position in the draft. He is likely working on language in the contract as did the Bosa brothers. This is what he should do.

Stay a Hater BAB. It’s what you know and what we have come to expect from a Simpleton.

  11. @geno711 Saw the report and pic of JPP in his neck brace. It’s July so will be interested to see when he’s actually evaluated and can start rehabbing. I had a similar injury from a car accident. Wore a similar brace for 3 months. Couldn’t believe how much my back, shoulders, upper body had atrophied. Was told it was as much from inactivity as your body’s natural reaction to shut things down from the injury.

Looks like JPP is going all out despite the fracture. Will be interesting……

Interesting! Do you think JPP’s injury is the same as yours? I.e you both had a non displaced cervical fracture.

  13. Who gives a crap about Madden ratings. According to the ratings there are 14 players ranked higher along with another 10 or so he’s tied with. Pretty sure White isn’t the 25th best player in the draft lol Christ they have like 3 TE’s ranked higher than him. Madden ratings mean jack

  14. Dave,
They do not go on how high someone was drafted they go off rating from combine had Tampa not drafted White he was figured 10 to 14.
For some reason Jason drafted him instead of Josh Allen who was rated much higher can you imagine this defense had Jason drafted Rokhan Smith like he should’ve and then Josh Allen this year. What Could have been.

  16. @geno711 Mine was a fracture in C4, which looked like a hairline fracture on the X-rays. Wore a collar similar to the JPP has on for 3 months, then a smaller soft collar that fit just under my chin for another month. I was 24 at the time and in decent shape, but clearly didn’t have access to the resources and treatment of a professional athlete. Overall it took me about a year to come back to 100%.

Hoping JPP’s injury isn’t as severe as mine was and he can come back faster.

  17. That just shows you can’t liaten to a word buc ass bob says. A supposed nfl fan that thinks rookies are paid off there combine performance. He is not holding out for more money you can’t every single draft picks salary is is already determined it can’t be different. He can not repeat cannot hold out for more money. The cba agreed to have slotted pay for each draft position. If you took two seconds bob and googled it it will show you what his exact pay will be from his signing bonus down to every years salsrt for the next 4 years. The only thing we don’t know is what his 5th year salary will be because it is based off the average top salaries at the position. The only thing rookies hold out for is for guarantees. Where if they are cut and sign with another team. The team that drafted him can deduct his salary with his new team from what they owe him. So they try to get that taken Out so they can double dip. Still get paid his let’s say 3 million for that year from the bucs and his 3 million from his new team. That is the only thing players hold out for now.

  19. I said madden rates them off combine and NFL rating ,Not off draft
Madden does not figure where they are drafted .
Devin White was lower rated than players drafted after him.
That is why madden rated him lower !

  20. ESPN hypes a player the other Media picks up on it , And Jason Licht reads it and believes it
Pewter prints it and all the Pewter boys repeat it and it is facts in every buddy minds.
ESPN Devin white is fast as running and stronger than lineman .
Every ones runs with it .
    Wow he is a monster.
Then there is Buc Ass Bob who ?
Hey wait a minute Devin white is 6.0 tall 237 pounds
The top 10 middle linebackers at 6’3 to 6’6 247 to 267 pounds
Something wrong with ESPN claim then I read 6’0″ is short for middle linebacker in NFL
they have trouble seeing over 6’6 lineman
Now Frester will say I am moron.

  21. Buc ass bob ray Lewis and Patrick Willis were 6”1. Lewis 250 Willis 240. White is 6”0 238 so there’s an inch different in height a whopping inch. And on his inch less gram he is 2 pounds lighter than Willis and 12 less than Lewis. Lewis ran a 4.58 Willis a 4.51 and white ran a 4.42. So almost identical weight to Willis and only 12 pounds lighter than Lewis he ran significantly faster. But yeah what world are you living in where middle linebackers are 6”6 kwon just got paid and he is 5”10. Name me one 6”6 middle linebacker. The tallest middle linebacker in the league is Alani fun and he is 6”5 he is the only middle line backer at that height so keep typing your idiotic non sense. Just a simple google like I did will tell you everything you need to know. But you just type whatever like it is the truth the average height for all linebackers is 6”2 244lbs and that includes outside linebackers in 3-4 who are usually 6-4 plus. So you are way off base once again. Rowuan Smith is 6”1 236 1 inch taller two pounds lighter. Kuechly is 6”3 238 same weight 3 inches taller. Bobby Wagner and chance Mosley are both 6”1 238 one inch taller same weight. So where did you get this 6”3 to 6”6 crap. Do you just type whatever sounds good to you. That one inch difference is going to be huge for white I hope he can overcome it. But I bet if I dig harder and see wingspan and vert white would exceed even those guys by an inch or two and be at or above there standing reach. All while being a significant amount faster. You are a troll who makes stuff up to sound important. That a simple google search can prove false. But it makes your negative profile you created get people like me to comment. So you can rub one out every night all excited that you got someone to respond to you on the internet. Mom look another person responded to my post. Good job bob did anyone in your job search respond to you. No mom but someone on pewter report did I should be a sports journalist I get more responses than anyone so people love to read my post.

  22. JeffBuc,
The point players in collage that have big speed and strong can over power and make big plays even with lacking technic, They get away with less technic but when they get to Pros they fall flat until they improve there technique, 6.0 237 is short and light he is not going to overpower anyone, so all the hype is BS.
He will be good starter with time. Bucs passed on the pro bowler Josh Allen for some reason.

  23. I personally am excited to see what’s White can do, I think he’s gonna be a great starting point for the new attitude on this Defense. The talk of a record 2nd deal turned me off when he said it but after learning more about him you see it was more him just having confidence, which this Defense needs. So we will be lucky to be faced with the dilemma of him commanding 100 mil on his 2nd contract because that means he lit it up for the next 4-5 years. This Defense is gonna have a lot of Fire on it this year and White will be leading the charge! No matter what the record this year is gonna be a lot of fun to watch.
