It is NFL Draft season and the mock drafts from the NFL experts and pundits are being published nearly every day and making their picks for the Bucs. Every Monday until the 2019 NFL Draft in April, PewterReport.com will scour the Internet to find the list of players that are projected to Tampa Bay and put out the list with the links.

NEW MOCKS THIS WEEK

Bucs’ First Round Pick: LSU LB Devin White
Bucs’ Second Round Pick: Louisiana Tech OLB Jaylon Ferguson
Bucs’ Third Round Pick: Boston College DE Zach Allen
Bucs’ Fourth Round Pick: Auburn CB Jamel Dean
Bucs’ Fifth Round Pick: Elon RT Oli Udoh
Bucs’ Sixth Round Pick: Maryland DL Byron Cowart
Bucs’ Seventh Round Pick: Baylor WR-RB Jalen Hurd

CBSSports.com Ryan Wilson
Bucs’ First Round Pick: LSU LB Devin White
” We’ll be honest: We like Devin Bush slightly better than Devin White but both linebackers are ridiculous athletes who not only control the middle of the field but have sideline-to-sideline speed, not to mention the physical strength to knock you out when they arrive. Some NFL teams wonder if White has the instincts to play at a high level, and he’s sometimes a step slow on play-action reads — but he often makes up for it with speed, quickness and athleticism. With Kwon Alexander now in San Francisco, White steps into the starting job from Day 1.” – Ryan Wilson

SI.com – Albert Breer
Bucs’ First Round Pick: LSU LB Devin White
“This is a team that, despite its record, doesn’t feel like it’s a long way off. So drafting someone into a need spot who can play right away, and fit just what Todd Bowles wants on defense, would make a lot of sense. And word on the street is that Tampa loves White, who’d help replace the departed Kwon Alexander, and has the personality to evolve into the alpha on an NFL defense.” – Albert Breer

SBNation.com – Dan Kadar
Bucs’ First Round Pick: Houston DT Ed Oliver
“Leading up to the draft, Tampa Bay has spent an abnormally large amount of resources getting to know the best defensive tackles, from Williams and Oliver to Christian Wilkins of Clemson and Jeffery Simmons of Mississippi State. That could be an indication of what the team wants to do with the fifth pick.” – Dan Kadar

247Sports.com – Lance Cartelli
Bucs’ First Round Pick: Mississippi State DE Montez Sweat
“Other than Murray, nobody has had a better pre-draft process than Sweat. The Mississippi State pass rusher has skyrocketed up the draft boards because of a strong week at the Senior Bowl and an otherworldly NFL Scouting Combine.” – Lance Cartelli
Bucs’ Second Round Pick: Temple CB Rock Ya-Sin
Bucs’ Third Round Pick: Memphis RB Darrell Henderson

ESPN.com – Todd McShay
Bucs’ First Round Pick: LSU LB Devin White
“Kwon Alexander is gone, so the Buccaneers could certainly use the sideline-to-sideline range of White. He had 123 tackles at LSU last season.” – Todd McShay

NFL.com – Daniel Jeremiah
Bucs’ First Round Pick: Kentucky OLB Josh Allen
“I could see this as a trade-down spot if a team wants to move up for a QB. However, if the Bucs stay here and Allen is still available, he’d be too tempting to pass up.” – Daniel Jeremiah

NFL.com – Chad Reuter
Bucs’ First Round Pick: Kentucky OLB Josh Allen
PROJECTED TRADE WITH GIANTS. The Bucs get their man and extra picks from the Giants — probably a third- and fourth-rounder in 2019 and future middle-round pick, a similar haul to what the 49ers took from Chicago in this type of swap in 2017.” – Chad Reuter
Bucs’ Second Round Pick: Penn State RB Miles Sanders
Bucs’ Third Round Pick: Ohio State DL Dre’Mont Jones
Bucs’ Third Round Pick (From NYG): UMass WR Andy Isabella
Bucs’ Fourth Round Pick: NIU OT Max Scharping
Bucs’ Fourth Round Pick (From NYG): Utah S Marquise Blair
Bucs’ Fifth Round Pick: Buffalo QB Tyree Jackson
Bucs’ Sixth Round Pick: FAU LB Azeez Al-Shaair
Bucs’ Seventh Round Pick: Troy CB Blace Brown

  1. The usual suspects. All good players who will help our team. Couple of more days we’ll have our answers, but the debate will rage over weather we made the right picks. I think it’ll be White with the first pick. In the 2nd, and 3rd I think the talent is still deep at DT, and DE, but the Bucs go 2nd round RT, or RG. We signed a vet RG, have Cappa who will compete there, so I say RT in the 2nd. Third round on I’m picking my DT’s, DE’s. After that BPA, players who everyone feels slipped, rather then reach for glory.

  2. More and more I find myself hoping the Bucs take Ed Oliver or Montez Sweat if the big three are off the board. I can’t stomach taking a MLB 5th overall no matter how good he projects to be.

  4. I am leaning towards DT or OLB/EDGE with the first pick. Any of the top guys will do. Then go with the opposite spot in the second, unless a really good OG or OT fall to us in the second. As much as we need Oline help, PLEASE do not take one in the first round unless we trade way back. I don’t think any of them are of the can’t miss variety that would warrant a pick anywhere in the top half of the first.

  5. White is not worth a spot 5 pick. Since I am not in favor of picking him, that means the Bucs will pick him. I have gotten the first round pick wrong most times, might as well keep it going. I just don’t see the need for a 6-foot inside linebacker when we have severe defensive line needs and cornerback needs.

    • White is a stud I guess you didn’t watch him play in college so that’s understandable

  6. Barring one of the top three falling to us at five I believe the reason Licht will pull the trigger on White is this is not a deep draft for linebackers and we have a strong need with the position. We will still be able to get a quality pick to replace McCoy in rounds two or three. From what we have read, Devon White brings strong leadership traits and has never got in trouble off the field so he checks a a lot more boxes than just his athletic ability. I understand your point on middle linebacker at the top of the draft but barring injury, I think this kid will step right in and never look back.

  7. Bet the Farm. Bucs pick Devin White. Everyone in the NFL knows it. Unless someone offers them the farm for the #5. Bucs zeroed in on White months ago. Once Alexander was gone there never was any other choice. (Assuming that Williams and Allen are taken)

  8. I keep hearing comparisons of Devin White to Ray Lewis, but everybody knew who Ray Lewis was coming out of Miami. You always saw highlights of him in games and firing up his team on Sports Center. I’ve only heard of Devin White during the draft process. I didn’t see the the same type of highlights that Ray Lewis had. Yes, he won the Butkus and was an All-American, but there have been plenty of Butkus winning All-American LB’s that never came close to what Ray Lewis meant to the Ravens. His HoF speech was one for the ages!

  9. The Bucs might draft a linebacker, but hopefully not White at 5. The Bucs have been good at identifying linebackers later in the draft.

I hope the only offensive position they draft is running back, also later in the draft.

DT is a must with GMC gone soon and Allen and Nacho on one year deals.

DE/OLB is a must with Nassib, Spence, Barrett on 1 year deals. JPP has two years left on his deal but is 31.

Cornerback is another need with VH3 on his last year.

  10. Why hasn’t anyone Mocked the Bucs biggest need on Defense. CB? We all know that what we think, what the Draft Media “experts” think isn’t what NFL executive and coaches think! For all we know the Bucs could have a CB or OT/G high on their draft board.

  11. Draftwire.com comes the closest to what I think the Bucs’ 7-round draft picks will be, or at least they got most of the positions right. Chad Reuter at NFL.com, on the other hand, provided some comic relief with almost all of his picks, except the first round pick of Josh Allen.

  12. @libucsfan93 Very true about CB and maybe the OL too. I think the Bucs will definitely take a CB. Maybe as early as the 2nd round.
In rounds 1-3, the Bucs need to come away with starters at DT, DE/OLB, CB.
Rounds 4-7 it would be nice if BPA were LB, RB, OL, QB, and another DT. I’m guessing a draft day McCoy trade results in a 5th round pick for the Bucs.

  13. But, if we draft White, doesn’t that make D Buchanan expendable? Thought it would be Buchanan and David in nickel and David and Minter in base 3-4. Either White or Buchanan would have to b on the bench. I hope we can get a Dlineman or an OLB/EDGE with our #5. Then the rookie can start with S Barrett in base and JPP and the rookie or Nassib can play in nickel

  14. There are so many good defensive linemen and 3-4 outside linebackers this year. I think the Bucs should stick with productive players who are tenacious at getting after the ballcarrier or QB. Adding a CB could be an early priority also. Hopefully the Bucs can trade back to pick up an extra couple picks.

In order at DT/DE/OLB/CB, I like: Bosa, Q. Williams, Oliver, J. Allen, Sweat, Wilkins, Burns, Ferrell, D. Lawrence, Simmons, G.Williams, Z. Allen, Tillery, Ferguson, Love, Saunders, Winovich, Mullen, and Polite. I think if the Bucs can get 3 of the players on that list, then they will be better immediately.

  15. We need an OT and an OG. If ‘this isn’t the draft to do that’ then Bust Licht should have done that in one of the prior five drafts when ‘it was the time’ and we’re left revisiting the subject of ‘compounding damage’ from multiple years of bad drafts

  16. And here we are again talking “need, need and more need” when we “need” to be talking BPA. Ok, we “need” a DT to replace GMC. But unless the remaining ones at # 5 are the best player……….take the best player!

  17. When need meets talent as B.A. said. I’m not happy with our LB group. David isn’t getting any younger, or better, and he’s our best. The FA’s we picked up are just guys who the staff is similar with. Bond sucks, Beck is done, Kwon is gone, Cichy is injured. You want to roll with that group? With, Kamara, McCaffery, Freeman, running up our soft belly? We got some guys on the D line, and will draft more, but our second level has nothing, and that will be exposed by the backs in our division. White can be the backbone this spineless defense needs.

  18. Devin White is a tackling machine with tremendous speed reminds me of Hardy Nickerson and for those of you who just read what I compared him too and scoffed than you truly haven’t watched Devin White play in college kid is a stud and will be a force to come in the middle of our defense for years to come.

  22. Josh Allen, Q Williams, or Oliver at 5. Burns or Bush with a trade back. I am getting nervous about White being the pick. Most mocks seem to align the way they did when they ALL projected us to take VH3.. Hopefully they’re all being lazy, and just looking at Kwon leaving for their answers.
