In a recent interview published by TMZ, former Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor was asked about Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston’s current situation.

Taylor said that, if the story is true, that he would have hopes Winston would know better than to be in such a situation. But he also gave the Buccaneers quarterback some defense saying that if this happened in 2016, why wasn’t it resolved then and that people always have multiple sides to a story that you have to get to the bottom of.

If LT played today’s world of everything’s on video, social media spotlights, and constant drug tests, he might not have made it past his rookie contract.

There is a lot that you can say about LT’s character, but to say wasn’t worth crap when he was in the league sounds like internet troll speak. As far as defensive players goes he is the G.O.A.T.

another example just like JW….wasted talent. at least LT won a SB. we won’t see the same here with the current situation. absolutely MUST find a PROVEN head coach to LEAD this team. I thinkg Koeter is fine as an OC but seems like he just doesn’t COMMAND respect and results from the players. Which is freaking sad considering there are about 1600 NFL players total. You would think that would be motivation enough. Post rookie contracts let the true players character out. The Good, the Bad, the UGLY. aka the overweight lazy ass piece of garbage DT from Washington… Read more »

LT is an example of wasted talent?

Dude is a gold jacket wearing Hall of Famer, 2x SB winner, 10x Pro Bowler 10x all-pro (8 1st team), 3x DPOY, had over 1k tackles and with 132 sacks (13th most sacks all-time).

I think every person here wishes they wasted their talent like Lawrence Taylor did.

Amen. He destroyed his personal life, not his football career.

Orlando Sentinel just hit him hard with an article headline below

Odd, it seems someone has pointed out that the greatest GM of all-time 22-42 Jason Licht “made the call to draft him.” That can’t be, surely this must be Mike Smith and Dirk Koetter’s fault somehow? Right Pewter Nation?

Where were your books of inspiration and leadership when Jameis needed them Mike Smith? Where?!

propes to LT. The Best or at least certainly in the top 3 in his position ..who ever done it. Hell, we wish we had a player..just one..with the fire this guy played with. Can’t tell if LT is a little tipsy here or if…that concussion thing has taken its toll on him. (Probably a little of both), LT will though..Just like Sapp..let you know quick..He was no GD Angel. No defense of Jameis here though. He;s right, An NFL QB..should know better. I think next time? Jameis headed for the CFL.

No need to read any amount of words that LT says since he is barometer that all NFL players, hell people should measure themselves by. LT chop a line for me since that made your career that much better.

Listening to LT talk about judgement is like listening to Donald Trump talk about ethics, morality and civilized behavior.
Wacky times we live in.

Thanks for the chuckle “e.” Ben Rothlesberger was known for sexually mauling and assaulting women before it finally went public and I can assure you it was more than trying to cop a feel.
Fast forward 7 years and no one even mentions or remembers it.
I wonder if that short memory span has anything to do with him being white.

Yeah, drdneast… Somehow, Big Ben survived and thrived through a much more egregious situation. All I am asking for is for all teams operate under the same punishment-fit-the-crime framework.

Yeah you and idiot dems are so much more moral. Lol.

Dr d your Trump pasting posts are getting old. Your an idiot. Were you outraged when Bill Clinton raped and abused women? Nope so shut the hell up.

Not sure LT should be the moral compass here, he made plenty of bad decision in his day. But, he’s not wrong when he says Jameis should have better judgement, he should. Especially after his alleged past behavior. Part of that decision making is being mature enough to not be so drunk that you get kicked out of a bar, as a famous person… I mean, how must you be behaving for that to happen. Look, I think the kid has some really fine qualities as a football player and person, but he’s got another side that needs work. We… Read more »

Also, with regards to the discussion some are having about Trump. He’s on recorded audio describing doing exactly what Jameis is acused of doing here and laughing about it. Grabbing a woman’s genetalia. Not making a political argument, just pointing it out in response to some of the posts here. Just something to consider.

“Jameis should have used better judgement” Duh! as in No shit! Someone is actually going to LT for opinions on character? Heck, why not ask Bill Cosby too? Maybe even Bret Favre who texted photos of his little cooter Packer to some unsuspecting woman.

Of course any one of us who did or said something we regret later should have used better judgement. Like the time I said to my wife, “Maybe your mother would like to go on vacation with us.” What was I thinking?
