As they often do before the season begins, Bovada released their odds for who will win the NFL’s Defensive Player Of The Year.
The good news is that linebacker Kwon Alexander made the list, albeit with low odds at 85/1.
The bad news is neither Gerald McCoy or Lavonte David made it.

A quick warning…the deadspin article uses lots of profanity and shows a grotesque picture of JPP’s hand. Other than that, it is really funny. Who doesn’t love a good roast?

So Bradley Chubb( who’s never played a single NFL down) makes the odds list over a perennial pro bowler, and all pro in Gerald McCoy. And makes the list over all around stud LB David. You can’t make that up lol
Hard to call it a snub… A defensive MVP usually would go to a player on a good team, or at least an outstanding defense. If I were a neutral observer, would I expect the Bucs to be winners or the defense to be anything special? No, no I wouldn’t…
If anything, I think JPP has a much better chance at landing the award before McCoy.
JPP just arrived in Tampa. He has a great reputation as a defensive end who generates pressure and can stop the run. If he can help turn the defense around while the Bucs stack some wins, it would illustrate the impact he made.
I love all the doubt we’re getting this year! It’s a sharp contrast from last year and I don’t see how anyone can think that’s a bad thing.
