How about a trade down and picking up Da’ron Payne & Billy Price?

Meathead is doing his job. Continuity is what will bring winning to Tampa. Cutting a bunch of players and bringing in a bunch of new players is not going to work in the short term… and then off with Koetter’s head. The Jags have been accruing highly talented defensive players over the last few years because they have been drafting near the top…[Read more]

6-10 maybe, because of the killer division, but if Smitty can turn the D around, the Bucs should be pushing for a wild card spot.

Agreed. The bounce-back is fairly common in the NFL and the fact that they are finally seeking some consistency, gives them a better chance competing immediately, instead of players having to learn a new system again.

Mark Walton would be a good, under the radar pick at RB.
I still see Lars Tate flipping over the pile and running it in for a touchdown… Barring a trade down scenario, it’s tough to see the Bucs addressing the pass rush that late? I like the idea of both the DL & OL addressed early and often. I’ll say it again; Billy Price / C – Ohio State.

Trevor, I like the idea of moving Marpet back to center and drafting Ohio St. C – Billy Price. So goes the OL, so goes the rest of the offense. I hope the Bucs are going to having a heavy DL-OL draft.

Gulp… You’ve got to be a brave GM to risk a top 10 Penn. St. RB pick!
Don’t sleep on Ohio St. C – Billy Price. He will end up moving up into the middle of the first round. I wonder how much better the line would be with Marpet back at guard and Price at center? I’ll say this in defense of the Glazers (here comes the down thumbs!) They’ve tried the coaching roulette for a decade. Now, they are giving continuity a…[Read more]

The firing and hiring of assistant coaches is just beginning and who knows what names could be out there for OC or DC. Will Smitty be hired away/fired? Will Jon Fox, Jim Caldwell or Dom Capers suddenly be on the Bucs radar (especially, if they are thinking 3-4?)… Oh, the intrigue…

Al least consistency equals hitting the ground running without a learning curve next year; Especially, with some new DL & OL blood.

I’ll give the Glazers credit for breaking the two-year coaching cycle. I’m open to seeing where Thisbe rabbit hole goes.

Nice article Scott… I don’t envy the position that the Glazers are in on Monday. I’m a fan of consistency, but what other names could be out there by weeks end? There always seems to be a big surprise at the end of every coaching carousel. As far as the 3-4 change… I could see that turning into a lost season of acclamation for the players on…[Read more]

I still feel like there hasn’t been an adequate explanation as to why the Bucs went from the last five games last year to this entire season… I’m sure that it’s a combination of things, including a disruption the chemistry of last years young, but improving team. Is that Jackson? Is that Baker (who I thought would be great)? Is it that they are…[Read more]

I’d vote Kwon to the Pro Bowl as a LB, but I wouldn’t put it past him to make as a tight end either 🙂

e commented on the post, SR’s Fab 5: Will Licht Stay? Will Gruden Return To The Bucs? 1 month ago
So, compare him to previous GMs? He still comes out on top. As Scott said, 1st round is about 50%, 2nd – 40%, 3rd – 30%… This averages out to less that a 50% hit rate for an entire draft. Who is this magic person that you want that you’d be willing to throw away the best GM that the Bucs have ever had???
I’m in Meathead’s corner. He is not the problem. Where he has missed is with the FAs. The Bucs should clean house with the overpaid FAs and continue to build though the draft. They’ve got good young talent… Focus on the lines; offensive and defensive. How about a breakdown of all of the Bucs GMs and their draft hits & misses? I have a feeling…[Read more]
